DIRECTIONS: Yesterday, at the end of class, the Compromise of 1850 was revealed… but as you can probably predict, this won’t keep the North and South happy. Pick either a or b, and answer.
a) One aspect of the Compromise of 1850 was the commitment to make a new law to make it easier to find and reclaim runaway slaves. Describe what you think this new law will say, and predict whether or not North & South will both be happy with it.
b) What do you think the next issue to cause problems between the North & South will be? Do you think any recent issues will resurface? If so, which ones?
