A few years ago I wanted a pet. I asked my parents again and again repetitively for a pet. After the whole conversation that parents insist on always having with their children about how pets are a big responsibility and you need to take care and love them, I got one. Or rather, ten. We went to Wal-Mart and picked out ten goldfish because they were cheap. They were called ‘feeder goldfish’. After about a month and a half, all ten of the fish had died. So naturally, as any 9 year old would, I began to beg for another pet. One day, one of the boys in our neighborhood came around to all the houses with a box full with five kittens in it, abandoned by their mother. Because I had wanted a cat, my parents agreed, if only to help keep them out of the pound. I named my cat Grace. We still have Grace to this day. She is a very good cat, along with her sister, Izzy. I love my cats, and am glad to share this tale.
