Hello families,

We were very busy this week in room 136!

Writing: We learned the four ways to begin a story with a BANG! (An action, dialogue, thought/question and sound) and began to practice writing beginnings.

Math: We have been skip-counting everything we can get our hands on! Skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s help us to add quicker, especially when we have large amounts of things to count.

Reading: We continued to discuss character traits and looked at our guided reading books and some picture books for interesting characters. SRBI groups began this week, and we are reading out third class chapter book “Clementine”. The class is enjoying her antics!

Social Studies: We are continuing to work on our own map of the world, they are coming out beautiful! Also, we have learned about the compass rose and how to navigate directions on a map.

Finally, in honor of Nickelodeon’s Day of Play tomorrow, we played many games and got out for some extra exercise today. We began our day with yoga, played games for center time, played bingo with our fifth grade buddies. We wish it was play day every day!
