The Freedom Trail Tour - Sun. July 22, 2018 (10 am – 1 pm)

The Savannah’s Freedom Trial tour is a two hour tour that explores the following historic sites: First African Baptist

Church - often called the oldest black church in North America

The Laurel Grove South Cemetery, a burial ground reserved for slaves and freed people of color,

Remnants of the historic Underground Railroad, Places where slaves were bought and sold, Black communities where free people of color

lived during slavery. The American Revolution Statue of a Regimen

of Free Haitian who voluntarily fought to capture Savannah from the British in 1779.

The Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Museum, named after a pastor of the First African Baptist Church who also became the President of the local branch of the NAACP.
