Draw us to you and one another that our growing unity may bring healing of life to all, through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Thought for this week…..by Rev. Trevor Denley At Messy Church this week, the children made Salt Dough ‘Pottery’. It was amusing to see the absolute mess in which they got themselves, but what was really amazing was what they actually made. We had a wide selection of items, from bowls representing Wells, hearts, to beautiful flowers. It struck me that such things of beauty came from a similar mix. It was wonderful to see the children comparing what each had made, and celebrating the different outcomes with a smile. This week we remember those who made sacrifices for us with their lives, many of whom would not have expected the outcome of death. We should also remember not just that they died but why they died. It occurred to me that like the salt dough pottery, people are fashioned differently, although all made from a similar set of ingredients. Sadly we often see that as an intimidation or a threat rather than something to be celebrated. Jesus calls us quite clearly to Love one another as he has loved us, if we obey this commandment truly, then we will love our neighbours no matter who they are or what they look like. Even for Christians this is still a very difficult challenge, but we cannot sit back and leave it to others to do, it is something we must do ourselves. If we take up the challenge the effect will be like a pebble in a pond, the ripples will go out to the very edge and then back. Let our pledge this remembrance be that we do just that and perhaps then we can create a peaceful world. Priest-in-Charge of Benefice – Rev. Jordan Ling 0117 3304953 Associate Minister – Rev.
