Overview of the ECT6210 Terminal Protocol Conformance
Tester
The ECT6210 terminal protocol conformance tester delivers a comprehensive
conformance testing solution; it supports TD-SCDMA single mode protocol testing, and is
capable of IRAT of TD-SCDMA/GSM, This system utilizes the DT Link Tester's refined
instrument hardware platform and fully satisfies the conformance testing requirements of
3GPP TS34.123and TS51.010 .
In addition, with its extremely high testcase scalability, the ECT6210 offers a
comprehensive automatic testing solution, which serves to effectively reduce user testing
costs. It has been utilized in the CMCC's terminal selection test, the MIIT's China Type
Approval(CTA) and the product development and system testing of terminal and chip
manufacturers.

Full support to the terminal protocol conformance testing
specification
This brand-new generation terminal conformance tester supports the single-
mode protocol testing of TD-SCDMA, and offers a complete series of IRAT
cases amongst TD-SCDMA/GSM so as to fully satisfy the requirements of a
range of users. Furthermore, these testcases are designed and constructed

strictly in accordance with the specifications, thereby guaranteeing the accuracy
of testing.
Full coverage of protocol versions, including R4, R5 (HSDPA) and R7(HSUPA);
and complete protocol stack realization, including the PL, MAC, RLC, RRC,
RAB, NAS, SMS, and other protocols.
Solutions for multi-mode terminal protocol testing
TD-SCDMA single-mode protocol testing solution
Covers all TCG certification testcase for TD-SCDMA single-mode protocol testing; and supports 6 three-carrier cells and A+F+E frequency ranges.
IRAT of TD-SCDMA/GSM protocol testing solution
Covers the testcase for IRAT of TD-SCDMA and GSM; and supports 6 TD-SCDMA three-carrier cells and 4 GSM cells.
Flexible configuration of solution scenarios
Hardware: The hardware units can be flexibly configured as necessitated by the
testing to suit single cell or multi-cell testing scenarios.
Software: The testing script package can be flexibly combined and the testcase
package can be configured as required by the user.
Selectable testing modes
It supports manual and automatic tests, and is suitable for R&D testing, high
capacity certification testing and batch manufacture testing. The manual testing
serves to facilitate analysis of single testcase by the user, and the automatic
testing serves to facilitate the rapid execution of testcase by the user so as to
improve testing efficiency.
Open interface for secondary development
It adopts the universally-used conformance testing language TTCN for script
development, is capable of rapid case expansion in accordance with 3GPP
evolution, and supports the API interface for secondary development to facilitate
testcase design and development by the user.

It provides comprehensive means for analysis issue , and can clearly display the
testing control flowchart during the testing process, generate various logs such
as TTCN Log, ADL Log, SMT Log, SS Log and Monitor Log when the testing is
complete, so as to facilitate rapid tracking, analysis issue.
TTCN Log are named with terminal name, testcase number, test time and
execution results, so as to facilitate storage, screening and search by the user.
The test results can be recorded and saved in various formats (such as EXCEL,
PDF, WORD, TXT, HTML and RPT).
Enhancement-type optional devices
Programmable power supply
The programmable power supply is connected to the terminal equipment and
controlled by the PC, and energizes or de-energizes the terminal in coordination
with the instrument. The terminal control by programmable power supply can
circumvent the manual operation, improve testing efficiency and avoid abnormal
terminal start or stop due to any incorrect AT commands, making the testing
more accurate and reliable.
Automatic LOG uploader

The logs can be uploaded to the server in real time ,so the logs of several
testing instruments can be timely collected ,and facilitating timely analysis by the
developer.
Software and Hardware of the TD-SCDMA module of ECT6210
Hardware structure of TD-SCDMA module
The TD-SCDMA module of ECT6210 comprises four units, ECTC6210,
ECTU6210, ECTF6210 and CTP3110, which are installed in the cabinet.
The main external interfaces of the tester are primarily as follows:

RF connection between the instrument and the terminal is by an RF cable.
An AC220V supply line is used for the power supply to the whole system.
The control PC and the terminal to be tested are connected via a data line
to enable the control message transmission and receipt in automatic
testing. The control PC connects the ECTC and ECTU via an Ethernet
cable.
The instrument provides 5ms/80ms trigger, 10MHz reference output, the

The ECTU6210, an RF unit, is used for processing analog signal. The single
ECTU6210 unit supports the processing of one cell, and covers A+F+E
frequency ranges.

multiple cells.

The ECT6210 software environment
SMT functions SMT is the control program of the ECT6210. The user can customize the test
case library and create test plan. The final test report will be generated when the
test plan have been accomplished; it will include the detailed test results, logs
and statistical information, which can be opened by the Report Viewer program.

Monitor functions
The monitor system is a data monitoring system, which can track data real time
and display of decoded messages to the user. The system can open the offline
