Hello,

I hope that the Thanksgiving holiday season has been good to you. Despite the intermittent spells of warmth and icy weather, I've been quite well and working a lot in both the studio as well as designing my new artist's website. 

And because of changes to McGuffey's website it was critical for me to do this update (it is where I teach almost half of my classes for adults). But I am really excited about what I have accomplished so far. It works more fluidly than my last one and easier to navigate through as well. So, I figured I would invite folks to come see the site.

And since I have also designed some new course to add into the mix ... I also wanted you to get a chance to see those as well. Some of the "old favorite" are still there ... but there are more courses for intermediate and advanced students too.

My first round of courses, starting in January, will be:Watercolor: Basics and Beyond my 8 week intro+ watercolor course on Tuesdays evenings, starts Jan. 15th in C'ville at the McGuffey Art Center Open Studio is a group of very supportive artists and I; we will resume our weekly gathering on Wednesday, Jan. 16th from 10am to 1pm in the art studio classroom at Crozet Arts. We all work on our own art at their own

pace. The students get as much/little guidance as they wish. Why don't you come check us out; maybe even stay a spell.  Painting Creative Watercolors from Photographs a short 5 week course begins on Saturday Jan. 26th at 1pm to 4pm is designed to help student to use reference photos to aid in both creativity and accuracy.

The classes beginning in February and Early March are:Watercolor Sketching will be at Blue Ridge Community College for 6 weeks on Monday evenings from 6-8:30 pm beginning on Feb. 25th.  Color, Glorious Color!   Is a brand NEW class; it will be a two part class (3 weeks+3 weeks) focused on effective color mixing methods in aqueous

media in the first three session and in the second three meetings we will be exploring strategies for creating luscious color harmonies. Meets on Sundays from 1:30 to 4:30, it begins March 3rd ... at Crozet Arts.Non-Traditional & Experimental Watercolor My McGuffey 5 week class for artists using watercolor, gouache, or acrylics and seeking to explore some new ways to use these traditional aqueous media, starts meeting at 1pm to 4pm on Saturday Mar. 16th.
