Advisory Board Member - Arts Programme Development

An Advisory Board Member sits on the Tŷ Pawb Advisory Board.

The Advisory Board Member will be appointed to this role through a process of written application and interview which will be approved at the inception meeting as set out in the Tŷ Pawb Advisory Board Terms of Reference.

The role of the Advisory Board Member includes:

To make recommendations in support of the identification of priorities and development of future strategy for Tŷ Pawb.

Provide specialist / technical advice to maximise the operational success of the arts space, market, business premises and car park to achieve the Tŷ Pawb business plan.

To review and comment on the budget and its management during the year. To contribute to qualitative and quantitative reviews of performance and progress. To monitor communication and joint working across the different operational elements of Tŷ

Pawb. Assist the development of services that meet local needs and contribute to the cultural,

economic and social offer of Tŷ Pawb. To provide a means of consulting and listening to a wide group of stakeholders in support of

service design and funding applications. Assist in maximising the opportunities for collaboration and partnership working To assist the Management Team to actively encourage the involvement of local people in

the ongoing delivery and development of Tŷ Pawb. To work alongside the Council to identify and develop as required, an appropriate external

governance model for the management of Tŷ Pawb.

In addition, the role of Advisory Board Member - Arts Programme Development will be required to:

1) Hold relevant professional experience (essential) and / or qualification (desirable) in the arts / culture

2) Demonstrate a broad knowledge of contemporary visual, performing and applied arts3) Demonstrate a strong interest in the civic role of arts organisations4) Have practical experience of delivering arts programmes (including exhibitions, events and

public programmes) within a cultural institution setting.5) Working knowledge of funding opportunities for arts programmes6) Have a strong existing network with local, regional and national galleries, cultural centres

and other related bodies.7) Bring a knowledge and understanding of the communities of Wrexham County Borough

within the context of Tŷ Pawb and its offer.

An Advisory Board Member sits on the Tŷ Pawb Advisory Board.

3) Demonstrate a working knowledge of key legislation relating to company / charity status, staffing, buildings, business operations and finance

4) Have a strong existing network with similar organisation at the local, regional and national level

5) Bring a knowledge and understanding of the communities of Wrexham County Borough within the context of Tŷ Pawb and its offer.
