A joint team of Special Staff of North West Distt. and Police Station Mahindra Park has arrested one lady namely Geeta (30) r/o B-4/107 First Floor D.D.A. Flats Narela, Delhi, wife of the van driver Om Pal Singh who had escaped with cash Rs. 51 lacs after drugging three other employees accompanying him while they were carrying cash for depositing in various ATMs of various banks in Delhi.

INCIDENT:

             On 28.9.12 one Maruti Eeco van No. DL1R-Y-5060 attached to Logi Cash Solution Pvt. Ltd. being driven by one Om Pal Singh and accompanied by two employees of Logi cash namely Hemant and Yogesh and one Gunman namely Brijesh, started from the regional office Jhandewalan, Delhi with 81 lacs cash. The cash was to be loaded in various ATM machines of Oriental Bank of Commerce, Central Bank of India and United Bank of India in Delhi. When they reached Ghanta Ghar, Subzi Mandi, after loading the cash in ATM machines at Kishan Ganj and Kamla Nagar, the driver Om Pal Singh offered sweets laced with sedatives to his colleagues. When the van reached near Karori Mal College, Delhi University, all the three fell unconscious in the vehicle itself. The Maruti Eeco Van was found abandoned at Jahangir Puri Metro Station, Delhi on next day early morning with three employees in unconscious state and the driver Om Pal Singh was found absconding with remaining cash of Rs. 51 lacs. On the complaint of Sh. Hemant Kumar, an employee of Logi Cash Solution Pvt. Ltd. a case vide FIR No. 267/12 dated 29.9.12 u/s 379/328 IPC was registered at PS Mahindra Park, Delhi.

INVESTIGATION :

A joint team of Special Staff, led by Inspr. Shyam Sunder, I/C Special Staff and staff of PS Mahindra Park under the close supervision of ACP/Operations/North-West Distt. was formed to solve the case. During initial investigation it was found that Logi Cash Jhandewalan had outsourced the Maruti Eeco van (for ferrying cash) and the driver from the firm’s office to various ATMs in Delhi. On enquiry the van driver Om Pal Singh who had

provided two addresses i.e. Village Gopal Nagar, Najafgarh, Delhi and B block Nand Nagri, North-East Delhi but when the Police team reached there, it is learnt that the suspect had left his Najafgarh address about two months back and rented accommodation of Nand Nagari on 24.9.12 to some unknown place. On further enquiry, the team came to know that his wife had an account in Muthoot Finance Co. (Gold Loan), Durga Puri, Delhi. On 1.10.12, Police team received a specific information that the wife of accused Om Pal Singh would visit at Muthoot Finance Co. Durga Puri and as such staff laid a trap and apprehended the lady.

INTERROGATION:

             During sustained interrogation, she disclosed that her husband namely Om Pal Singh @ Suraj @ Amit s/o Mahavir Singh r/o B-4/107 First Floor D.D.A. Flats Narela, Delhi and permanent resident of V.P.O. Tatesar, PS Kanjhawla, Delhi, is a history sheeter of the area and was absent from the area since last 7-8 years. Her husband was previously involved in various cases of robbery, theft and snatching in Delhi and NCR area. Both husband and wife kept changing their addresses to evade surveillance over his activities. They stayed in various parts of Delhi i.e. Rajiv Nagar, Gopal Nagar, Najafgarh and at A block Nand Nagari, Delhi before moving to in Narela area. Om Pal Singh knew driving and managed to get job as driver in Logi Cash Solution Pvt. Ltd., located at Jhandewalan, Delhi, a private firm, which replenishes cash from banks to various ATMs in Delhi. Her husband disclosed of his nefarious plan to her that he would decamp with cash after intoxicating his colleagues. As per the plan they took a flat on rent in the area of Narela ten days prior of the crime and shifted their residence on 24.9.12 from Nand Nagari. On 28.9.12, the driver Om Pal Singh offered sweets laced with sedatives to his three other colleagues while they were at Ghanta Ghar, Subzi Mandi area and by the time the cash van reached Karori Mal college, Delhi University to replenish cash at Oriental Bank of Commerce’s ATM, the three other employees accompanying the cash van had already lost consciousness. The cash van was later found in abandoned condition at Jahangir Puri Metro Station with three employees in unconscious state and the driver Om Pal Singh was missing with the cash. The wife of accused further stated that her husband has already left for the unknown place after entrusting the cash to her which was recovered at her instance.

Accused Geeta (30 Years) was born in Sharma Colony Budh Vihar Ph-II, Delhi and studied upto 12th class. She fell in love with Om Pal Singh r/o Tatesar Village, Delhi and married him against the wishes of her parents. She has two children, one Girl (10 years) & one boy (8 years). She gradually came to know that her husband has a criminal background and she associated with the activities of her husband in order to survive. She connived with her husband to change their residence and their respective mobile phones, to evade arrest.

A desperate/notorious criminal wanted in robber cum murder case arrested.

A cash reward of Rs.50,000/- was declared for his arrest. One .32 pistol, 3 live cartridges and two motor cycles used in the crime

recovered. The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested one Sanjay @ Jaiveer @ Hari s/o Mithan Lal r/o 6/430 Trilok Puri Delhi, a desperate/notorious criminal wanted in a case of robbery cum murderer case of Police Station Civil Lines Delhi. A cash reward of Rs.50,000/- was declared for his arrest by Worthy CP Delhi .

On 28.05.2012 at about 9:00 PM Mr Rajendra Jain and his nephew Paras Jain were on their way to Tees Hazari metro station, while they were crossing the road, one Accent car stopped in front of them, two persons came out of the car and tried to snatch the bags from their hands. When they resisted, two more persons came out of the car and whipped out the revolvers/pistols and fired at both of them.

Rajender Jain fell on the spot after sustaining bullet injury. Paras Jain tried to overpower the culprits but they sped away in the car after snatching the bags containing cash Rs 35 Lacs. Both sustained bullet injuries and were admitted in the hospital but Rajender Jain was succumbed to his injuries.

A case FIR No. 84 dated 28.05.2012 u/s 394/397/302/34 IPC & 25/27/54/59 Arms Act was registered at PS Civil Line, Delhi. One desparate criminal namely Jaiveer @ Sanjay @ Hari s/o Mitthan Lal r/o H.No. 6/430, Trilok Puri, Delhi was wanted in this case. Worthy CP Delhi had declared a cash reward of Rs. 50,000/- for his arrest.

The team of Anti Robbery Cell Crime Branch led by Sh. Bir Singh ACP consisting of Insp. Sukhwinder Singh SI Sanjiv Kumar, ASI Rajveer Singh, HC Bijender Singh No. 918/Crime, HC Pawan Kumar No. 257/Crime, HC Samay Singh, HC Sandeep Kumar, HC Dharmender, HC Ram Swaroop, HC Jugnu Tyagi, Ct Vipin Tyagi, Ct Rambir, Ct Satpal and Ct Sunil was constituted under the overall supervision of Sh. Bisham Singh, Addl. DCP, Crime Branch to develop the information about this criminal.

On 01.10.2012 at about 12.50 Noon, HC Bijender Singh No. 918/Crime and Ct Vipin Tyagi No. 11/Crime received a specific information that the accused Jaiveer @

Sanjay @ Hari would be coming near Gokhle Market Mori Gate, Delhi, on this the above team swung into action and at about 02.30 PM the accused Jaiveer @ Sanjay @ Hari was overpowered/ apprehended by the police party.

On sustained interrogation Jaiveer @ Sanjay @ Hari confessed his involvement in the robbery cum murder incident in front of Metro Station Tis Hazari Delhi along with his associates namely Bijender @ Biddi of Uttam Nagar, Deen Bandhu of Dwarka, Deepak, Dharam Nath @ Bihari, Rakesh Arora of Dwarka who have already been arrested.

Jaiveer @ Sanjay @ Hari had disclosed that he had concealed the pistol used in the Crime near his house/residence and two motor cycles used for the recce of the spot have also been parked near his house. He led the police party to his house and got recovered the .32 pistol with two live cartridges which was concealed near his house. He also got recovered two motor cycles make BAJAJ PULSAR at his instance. FIR No. 238 Dated 01.10.2012 under section 25 Arms act has been registered at Police Station Crime Branch Delhi in this regard and taken up for investigation.

The involvement of Jaiveer @ Sanjay @ Hari in other cases is being verified.

Modus operendi : Dharam Nath @ Bihari used to work in Sadar Bazar/Chandni Chowk area as a labor since 15 years. He knows each and every businessman in the area. In this case also Dharam Nath @ Bihari provided the specific information to these gang members that both Rajinder Jain and Paras Jain used to carry huge amount of money and they are soft target as they used to take cycle rickshaw up to Tis Hazari Metro Station from Sadar Bazar. The gang members had carried out the recce of the route for two months. Dharam Nath @ Bihari and Jaiveer came into contact in the year 2003 in Tihar Jail.

Profile of accused: Jaiveer @ Sanjay @ Hari s/o Mitthan Lal r/o H.No. 6/430, Trilok Puri, Delhi was born on 25.07.1974 in village Gadhauthi Rohtak Haryana. He came to Delhi in the same year. His father works as Kabari in Maidan Garhi Delhi. In the year 2003, he was arrested in case FIR No. 347 dated 02.07.2003 u/s 411 IPC & 25 Arms Act PS Mangol Puri Delhi. After that he came into contact with other criminals and started the criminal activities. He is involved in 7cases of robbery/theft.

Further investigation is in progress.

A HISTORY SHEETER OF PS NARELA ARRESTED WHO MURDERED AN INNOCENT PERSON.

THE HISTORY SHEETER FIRED FROM A CLOSE RANGE ON THE VICTIM AND PUMPED ALL THE FIVE ROUNDS.

A team of SIT, Crime Branch led by Insp. Satya Prakash comprising of ASI Baljit Singh ,ASI Ramesh, HC Jitender, Ct. Sunil, Ct. Pardeep Kumar, Ct. Amit and Ct. Rampal under the supervision of ACP V.K.Dham has apprehended, Wasim S/O Sherdeen R/O H.No 20-A Vill. Kureni, PS Narela, Delhi, a history sheeter of PS Narela who had murdered an innocent person named Riyassuddin of his own village i.e. Kureni (Narela). The murder case FIR No. 531/12 dt. 28.09.12 U/S 302/34 IPC of PS Narela has been worked out.

BRIEF FACTS OF THE CASE

On 27.9.12 at about 10 PM, Wasim along with his associate, also named as Wasim reached Keshav Bhawan Society situated near Kureni Village of Narela. Victim Riyassuddin was also accompanying them, little knowing about the nefarious intensions of the two Wasims. The ground floor of Keshav Bhawan society is used as car parking and has small

shopping complex in it. As it was late hours all the shops were closed and there was no body available except the security guard Sanjay Kumar who remained unnoticed by the trio. Seeing a good chance to execute their plan one of the Wasims brought Riyasuddin on ground by kicking him on the legs and Wasim, the history sheeter, fired at him from the point blank range from his pistol till he emptied the pistol magazine. Both of them fled away threatening the security guard of his life in case he opened his mouth.

OPERATIONOn 01.10.12, an information was received by ASI Baljeet Singh of

SIT/Crime Branch that a desperate criminal involved in a recent case of murder and who is also a history sheeter of P.S. Narela would come near Raja Harish Chander Hospital at about 11.00am. Acting upon this information, a trap was laid by the police team at above place and at the instance of informer, the above accused was apprehended.

INTERROGATION

He was subjected to intensive examination and it was revealed that he had a property dispute with the victim over a plot of 40 square yards situated in their own village. The other reason for the enmity was that once the deceased had paid him Rupees 4500/- which the accused did not return. Once the deceased insulted him for not returning the money and since then he was looking for a chance to avenge this insult. On 27/09/12 he got the chance and he with the help of his friend Wasim S/O Rasid called the deceased from his house, took him to the nearby society and shot him dead.

PROFILE

Wasim is educated up to 12th standard. But soon after schooling he fell in a bad company and became a desperate criminal. He is a B.C of P.S. Narela. He has 7 criminals cases registered against him at Police station

Narela, Delhi. His associate Wassim is also a desperate criminal and has criminals cases registered against him. He has been absconding in case FIR No 531/12.

Singh and overall supervision of Shri Bhisham Singh, Addl. DCP/Crime apprehended one person involved in trafficking of drugs and recovered two KGs of fine quality Heroin. The Heroin recovered is worth Rs. Two crores (approximately) in the International Market.

Information was received on 01.10.2012 by SI Satyawan that a person namely Sanjeev Dixit, a resident of Vasundhara, Gaziabad, UP, is indulging in supply of Heroin in the area of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh after procuring the same from Mandasaur, MP. The information was further developed and it was revealed that he would be coming near Red Light, in front of Shani Mandir, Palla Village, Delhi on a motorcycle to deliver a consignment of Heroin to someone in the morning. A trap was laid around Red Light, in front of Shani Mandir, Palla Village and at about 05:30 AM, one person namely Sanjeev Dixit aged 38 years s/o Late Suresh Chand Dixit r/o H. No. 2185/4B, Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, UP was apprehended. On his search, two KGs of fine quality Heroin was recovered. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 237 /12 dated 01.10.2012 u/s 21 of NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi.

Accused Sanjeev Dixit was subjected to sustained interrogation wherer in which it was revealed that due to poor family background, he dropped his education and started working at a saw-mill at Nauchandi, Meerut. In year 2000 he started a small factory, manufacturing borders of carom board. In the year 2004, his elder brother Chander Mohan Dixit got engaged in the supply of Heroin to earn easy money but he was caught by the police. Soon after the arrest of Chander Mohan, Sanjeev took over his drug business. In the year 2009, Sanjeev was arrested by the Narcotics Cell of the Crime Branch vide FIR No. 65/09 PS Crime Branch. However, he managed to get himself released on bail in the said case and again indulged in supply of Heroin. He used to procure the Heroin from one Shyam Lal of Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh. On 01.10.12, he had come to deliver a consignment of two Kgs of Heroin to someone but he was caught red handed by the police team.

Further investigation of the case is in progress.

NOTORIOUS AUTO-LIFTER ARRESTED – 03 STOLEN CARS RECOVERED

With the arrest of accused Monu @ Manish Rao S/O Sh. Subash Rao r/o H.No. 542, Pkt. I, Janta Flat, Hastsal, Uttam Nagar, Delhi Age:34 yrs., the team of SOS Crime Branch succeeded in working out three cases of MV Theft and recovered 03 Cars stolen from various parts of Delhi.

INCIDENT, TEAM & ARREST

To prevent the increasing incidents of M.V. Thefts and to apprehend the criminals involved in these incidents, a team consisting of SI Devender Kumar, SI Devender Yadav, HC Virender, Ct. Ashok Ct. Ravi Dutt, Ct. Susheel, Ct. Sanjeev Tyagi under the supervision of Inspr. Ashok Kumar and Shri K.K. Sharma, ACP/SOS/Crime Team was constituted.

During the course of investigation, the stunning fact discovered was that the accused is an expert car lifter and used to steal the vehicle on demand and supply the same within few hours. On 28/09/12, a secret information was received that one auto-lifter would come at Rohtak Road, Punjabi Bagh, Opp. Metro Pillar No. 157, Delhi, along with a stolen vehicle to meet with his associate. On the basis of said information a trap was laid down near service Road, Rohtak Road, Punjabi Bagh, Delhi opp. Metro Pillar No. 157 and all the team members were briefed properly by S.I. Devender Kumar. At about 5.15 pm, one Santro car No. HR-36-K-6192 silver colour came there and one young man of about 35 yrs. of age got down from the vehicle. He waited there for

someone for about 10 minutes, but no person came there. In the mean time, secret informer identified the fellow who was ready to go back by the same vehicle, the raiding team overpowered the fellow who was later identified as Monu @ Manish Rao S/O Sh. SubashRao r/o H.No. 542, Pkt. I, Janta Flat, Hastsal, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age 34 yrs. On verification, the number plate of the vehicle was found fake and the same was reported to be stolen from the area of P.S. Janak Puri vide FIR No. 217/12. Accused Monu @ Manish Rao was arrested as per law.

During sustained interrogation, accused Monu @ Manish Rao disclosed that he had also stolen two more vehicles from Vikas Puri and Dwarka and got recovered the same from Hari Nagar Clock Tower, DESU office near park. On verification, both these cars were found stolen from the area of PS Vikas Puri and PS Dwarka South vide FIR No. 144/12 (M/Wagon R bearing Fake No. Plate of No.HR-26-K-8215) & FIR No. 193/12 (M/Alto without No.Plate) respectively. From the dash board of the Alto car one D/L No. 0920100061877 and RC of car No. DL 7C D 9204 were also recovered. Both the cars and other documents were taken into police possession as per law.

INTERROGATION & MODUS-OPERANDI

On sustained interrogation, he disclosed that he can open the locks of the vehicles with the help of a master key. He has committed more than 20 motorcar thefts from various parts of Delhi.

Due to his company with bad elements, he became a drug-addict and started committing auto-lifting to fulfil his requirements. case of theft reported at PS Mehrauli and recovered stolen silver articles worth more than Rs. 10 lacs. BRIEF FACTS :

On 01.10.12, in order keep check on M. V. theft and snatching in the area of PS Hauz Khas, a strong picket was set up at Ganda Nala, Gautam Nagar, New Delhi. A team comprising  Inspr. Rajesh Brar, HC Mahesh Kumar, Ct Rakesh, Ct Arjun, Ct. Naresh, Ct. Krishan and L/Ct Monika were conducting checking of vehicles. During this course, the team noticed one person having plastic sack on his shoulders in suspicious condition. On suspicion, the picket staff signaled him to stop but that person started walking briskly to escape from the spot. The alert picket staff overpowered that person after a minor chase. The identity of the person was revealed as Lalu Sharma s/o Late Chhotu Sharma r/o H. No. 216, Rajpur Khurd Extension, Chhatarpur, New Delhi. On checking, expensive silver articles / show pieces were recovered from the plastic bag. On enquiry, accused Lalu Sharma confessed to have stolen these articles from the area of PS Mehrauli along with his associate Satish. Accordingly, accused was arrested and put on sustained interrogation.

INTERROGATION :

During interrogation, accused Lalu Sharma disclosed that he was working as a driver in the Sharma Farm House, Chhatarpur, New Delhi. During this period, he came to know about the expensive silver articles, which were kept in the Farm House. He shared this information with one Satish and both conspired to steal these articles. On finding an opportunity in the first week of August, 2012, they committed theft of above said silver articles and distributed the booty equally. In this regard, a case vide FIR No 390/12 dated 19.09.12 u/s 380 IPC was found to be registered at PS Mehrauli. During interrogation, it also revealed that co-accused Satish is a tea vendor in Chhatarpur and after committing theft, he escaped to his native place in Bihar to dispose off the stolen property. Accused further disclosed that since then he was looking for a potential buyer for these silver articles and today when he going to dispose off these articles, he was nabbed by the picket staff. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No 276/12 u/s 411 IPC was registered at PS Hauz Khas and further investigation was taken up. PROFILE OF ACCUSED :

HIGHLIGHTS:- Three accused namely Nandini @ Sonia @ Kalee, Arvind and Rajesh @ Rahul arrested by the

staff of PS- North Rohini. One gold chain, Two diamond bangle, One silver plate, 40 grams of gold, Five Gold ear rings,

One gold locket, One silver chain, One wrist watch and Cash Rs. 22,000/-recovered.

BRIEF FACTS:- With the arrest of Nandini @ Sonia @ Kalee W/o Sukhbir, R/o Vill 4/18, Trilokpuri,

Delhi, North Rohini, Outer District police has solved the Dacoity with murder case of a senior citizen committed on 12.09.12 at D-11/67, Sec-8, Rohini, Delhi, vide FIR No. 294/12 U/s 395/396/302/412 IPC.

INCIDENT/:-  On 12.09.12, an incident of Dacoity with murder at D-11/67, Sec-8, Rohini, Delhi was reported. The deceased Smt. Gurjeet Kaur was a senior retired Income Tax officer. Her only son is an software engineer, residing at United Kingdom. One daughter of deceased is Superintendent in CPWD, another daughter is working in NTPC. The husband of deceased had expired 22 years ago. On retirement after life time hard work now she was living a contended life. Devoting herself fully to social work and offering prayers to almighty. With all her innocence and simplicity in her life she engaged part time maid servant Nandini @ Sonia for cleaning and dusting work at her house two weeks ago. Nandini used to work only for one hour at the residence of the deceased. With all her cunningness and clever tactics she had gained sympathy and confidence of the deceased. The unsuspecting innocence deceased was never knowing that what is going in the crook mind of maid servant. Nandini also used to work in three four other houses as maid servant in the same locality of sec-8, Rohini, Delhi. Nandini offered the deceased lady to purchase the old unused sofa at a very good price for which the deceased lady agreed as the sofa was already very old and unused. Then Nandini requested the deceased that her husband wish to see the Sofa. And one day she brought her associate Hardwari along with her and introduced Hardwari as her husband. Hardwari on the pretext of seeing the sofa, observed the house from the point of view of feasibility of committing Dacoity in the house. On Dt. 12.09.12 Nandini entered inside the colony along with her four associates namely Hardwari, Arvind, Rajesh @ Rahul and Vicky. The unsuspecting innocent deceased opened the door and all the five entered inside the house. Prior to coming to the house the accused persons consumed. A case vide FIR No. 294/12 U/s 394/397 IPC was registered at PS North Rohini and investigation was taken up.

INVESTIGATION:-The team comprising HC Kishan Pal, HC Dinesh under the leadership of Santosh

Kumar Meena, SHO/North Rohini and Insp. Vinay Malik and under overall supervision of Sh. Ved Prakash ACP/Prashant Vihar was constituted, using and exploring all the

investigation techniques, interrogation of number of persons and conducting countless raids tirelessly at all the suspected hide outs, located the accused persons. Accused persons on interrogation have told that after committing the crime they came to know through newspaper that police have ascertained their identity. In order to evade their arrest they hided themselves at Moradabad, Bareily, Pilibhit, Haridwar, Dehradoon & Almorah. They frequently kept changing their places as police was vigorously chasing them. Two accused persons namely 1. Rajesh @ Rahul S/o Sh. Lal Singh, R/o T-21, Budh Vihar, Phase I, Delhi & 2. Arvind S/o Ram Avtar R/o 84, Ghanta mandir wali Gali, Tilak Nagar, Subhash Nagar, Bareily UP has already been arrested in the case. Accused persons were so clever that after commission of crime they were not using the mobile phones or communicating with anyone. It is only the vigorous efforts, continuous following the leads that accused persons have been arrested.

INTERROGATION:-On interrogation it has been found that Nandini was having an impression that lot of

cash and jewelery is available in the house of the deceased. First she planned to commit theft from the house but as deceased used to keep her valuables under lock and key so she planned something else. Nandini entered into conspiracy with Arvind, Rajesh, Hardwari and Vicky. Nandini showed very rosy pictures regarding availability of lots of valuables at the house of the deceased and asked them to join her in committing the crime. It was decided among them that the the robbed material shall be divided equally among all. Nandini assured them all kind of anonymity and convinced that no chance of apprehension after committing the crime. It is worthwhile to mention here that Nandini was working in several neighboring houses of the locality, but no one knew her house, her background or any other family details.

Then the main problem with gang was that the deceased lady was very much possessive and particular about entry of visitors in her house. To tackle this situation Nandini offered the deceased lady to purchase the old unused sofa at a very good price for which the deceased lady agreed as the sofa was already very old and unused. Then Nandini requested the deceased that her husband wish to see the Sofa. And one day she brought her associate Hardwari along with her and introduced Hardwari as her husband. Hardwari on the pretext of seeing the sofa, observed the house from the point of view of feasibility of committing Dacoity in the house. After observing the house Hardwari also approved that house is fit for robbery and anticipated that lot of cash and valuables would be found. Thereafter he fixed the date for picking up the sofa and told that he will bring his labour along with him. He further requested the deceased lady to give suitable direction to the chowkidar of the colony to allow entry to laborers. On Dt. 12.09.12 Nandini entered inside the colony along with her four associates namely Hardwari, Arvind, Rajesh @ Rahul and Vicky. The unsuspecting innocent deceased opened the door and all the five entered inside the house. Prior to coming to the house the accused persons consumed. After entering into the house Nandini came outside the balcony and watched in the street for any movement and then gave signal to Arvind and thereafter accused persons caught hold the victim lady, tied her with a rope. The old fragile lady was not even in the position to offer any kind of resistance to accused persons. In the mean time Arvind saw a tape lying in the house. He wrapped it completely on head and face of the deceased. The deceased was made to lie on the bed. Thereafter all the accused ransacked the house and took away all the valuables and cash or whatever they could lay hand. Nandini at that time was watching movement in street on pretext of dusting and cleaning. Nandini instructed her associates that if the lady left alive, it could expose them and her associates strangulated the old, helpless, lady whose hands were tied and face wrapped with tape. The accused persons attempted to give the incident color of loot by the unknown persons. Thereafter they all ran away from the spot. All the five ran away to Bareilly, then at

Moradabad and distributed the booty among themselves. It was planned that after two days Nandini will return back to her job in an innocent manner pretending of no knowledge of the incident.

ACCUSED ARRESTED :1. Accused Nandini @ Sonia :- Nandini’s father belong to Vill- Sangli Manpur, PS Chajji Lath,

Tehsil- Kath Road, Moradabad, UP and her mother belong to Tamilnadu. She is having two brothers who are working as part time laborer at different places. Her father runs a tea stall in Trilokpuri area in Delhi and her parents and brothers reside at 4/18, Trilokpuri, delhi. She got married to one Sukhbir who is driver by profession but left her nearly a year back. No previous involvement is found of the accused Nandini so far.

2. Accused Arvind :- Accused Arvind is driver by profession who hails from Bareily, UP. He is having two brothers and two sisters. Brothers are doing part time laborer job at different places. No previous involvement is found so far.

3. Accused Rajesh @ Rahul :- Accused Rajesh was doing the job of bus conductor and was friend of Arvind. He is also a first timer in committing the crime.

Accused persons in the present case are first timers and they have done this with a hope to lead a better life after looting valuables from the house of the deceased. Nandini, Hardwari and Arvind were known to each other since long, whereas Arvind who was knowing Rajesh @ Rahul and Vicky, introduced them to Nandini and Hardwari few days prior to commission of this crime.

The staff of Police Station Hari Nagar, West District, Delhi has succeeded in arresting two active Pick-pockets during special drive to combat crime. With their arrest, three mobile phones stolen from Lodhi Colony area during Airtel Marathon Race held on Sunday i.e 30/09/12 have been recovered from their possession and two cases of Mobile phone theft have been worked out.

INCIDENT AND OPERATION

Keeping in view the increasing incidents of chain snatchings and autolifting etc. in the area of PS Hari Nagar, ACP/Tilak Nagar Sh. Vinit Kumar had directed SHO/Hari Nagar to constitute a team and identify active criminals of the area who are involved in the crime and to deploy staff in plain clothes to curb the crime. SHO Hari Nagar, Insp. Jagjit Sangwan had constituted a team comprising of HC Balmiki Mishra, Ct. Devender & Ct. Jagmohan to check the incidents and arrest the criminals. The police team started keeping vigil in the area. During the hunt of accused, the police team while patrolling in weekly Monday market noticed two persons in suspicious condition riding on black Pulsar M/Cly No. DL-4S-BT-2954. They were riding the M/Cly in abnormal way and staring at the passers by. The staff followed them but the boys tried to flee, but the team over powered them. During enquiry they could not give satisfactory reply about their presence in the Monday market at Hari Nagar & were perturbed. During their search three stolen mobile phones were recovered from their possession. On enquiry the said mobile phones were found stolen from the people participated in the marathon race held on 30/09/12 at JLN Stadium Delhi. Hence, they were arrested U/s 41.1D Cr.P.C.

INTERROGATION

During sustained interrogation they revealed that they are involved in number of cases of Pick-pockets all over Delhi. They further disclosed that they target the persons in crowded places. They keep a track while roaming on their motorcycle when ever & where ever they notice the crowd, they mingle with it and steal the purse and mobile phones from the victims.

Staff involved in good work is being rewarded suitably.

CELEBRATION OF SENIOR CITIZENS’ DAY IN SOUTH DISTRICT

On the occasion of International Day for Elderly Persons on 1 October 2012, South District Police had organized a ‘Haasya Sandhya’ at Siri Fort Auditorium, Hauz Khas, New Delhi followed by High Tea. The function was graced by a large number of resident senior citizens of South District, many former Commissioners of Delhi Police, Dr Aditya Arya, Special Commissioner of Police, Principals of Schools and Colleges,

representatives of RWAs, senior officers of Delhi Police, Doctors and other distinguished guests.

The senior citizens were treated to an invocation to the Goddess Saraswati by school children, a small nukkad natak by “YUVA”, Haasya Kavitayien by poets Dinesh Raghuvanshi and Ved Prakash, a play named “Jat Hi Puchho Sadhu Ki” by Vijay Tendulkar by a theatre group regaled the assembled guests. The guests were treated to a lavish spread of Hi tea which was accompanied by the Delhi Police Brass Band playing old Hindi film tunes in attendance. Inspector Ved Prakash of South District also shared a self written humorous poem and regaled the crowd with laughter.

The Joint Commissioner of Police, Dr. Vivek Gogia also blessed us with his benign presence and interacted with all the guests. All Assistant Commissioners of Police of South District and Inspectors who were not on essential duties attended the function and paid attention to all the guests. Members of crime victim welfare association also assisted in conducting the program. All the senior citizens appreciated the initiatives taken by the Delhi Police and were thrilled by the love and affection shown towards them.

The Delhi Police has conducted a 3 days Regional Level workshop on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings from 29th Sept., 2012 to 1st Oct, 2012 under the aegis of BPR&D at Police Training College Jharoda Kalan, New Delhi. This workshop was meant for Public Prosecutors from the States of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Delhi. 35 participants from these states have attended this workshop.

Human Trafficking is a complex and organized nature of crime against humanity. The Government agencies, including prosecutors have a vital role to play in combating human trafficking with active participation of Police & NGOs. The aim of this workshop was not only to sensitize the concerned Govt agencies about the growing problem of trafficking but also to help in preparing trainers to tackle this menace. To this effect, highly experienced and dedicated resource persons actively involved in this field were invited to interact with the participants. The inaugural session was presided over by Hon’ble Justice Ms. Mukta Gupta, Delhi High Court, who was the Chief Guest of the occasion. She highlighted upon the salient features of the Laws through which human traffickers can be booked and this crime could be curbed.

Sh. P.M.Nair, DG/NDRF is one of the premier crusaders for combating human trafficking in the country and has been leading this mission from the front. He stressed upon the need to change the attitude of Govt. agencies to treat women & girls rescued during raids as victims and not perpetrators of crime. Prosecution/police should use provisions of ITP Act, and try for closure of the brothel. He also called upon all the participants to join the mission to save every women & child from being trafficked.

Dr. Ms. Sunitha Krishnan of NGO Prajwala, Hyderabad in a hard-hitting and touching presentation, impressed upon the participants regarding psycho-social needs of the victims. She sensitized the prosecutors on the factors which lead to young girls falling into the net of traffickers. She dwelt upon the trauma and inhuman treatment meted out to these girls which leaves a permanent stigma on their psyche.

Mrs. Geeta Godambe, APP Mumbai highlighted the role of prosecution during and post trial. She also focussed upon victim rehabilitation & discussed regarding effective prosecution of the offenders within the ambit of law. She further armed the participants with latest relevant court rulings for forceful presentation of the case in courts. Gaining the confidence of victims is the key for strong prosecution of human traffickers.

Supreme Court advocate and Bachpan Bachao Andalon NGO activist Sh. Bhuwan Ribhu was another guest speaker who informed about the investigation procedure on trafficking for forced labour and bonded labour etc.

Dr. K.P. Singh Addl. DG, Prisons, Haryana was one of the speakers who emphasised upon after-care & rehabilitation of rescued persons.

Almost all the issues pertaining to combating human trafficking has been covered during the course of this three days workshop.

It was conducted in the serene and holistic atmosphere of Police Training College nestled in the South-West periphery of Delhi amidst verdant greenery. It was well received and appreciated by the participants who were thankful to Delhi Police for conducting a meaningful and enlightening workshop with all their needs including boarding/lodging for three days taken well care of.

The workshop was concluded on 1st Oct.,2012 with a valedictory address by Smt. B. Bhamathi, IAS, Addl.Secy., Ministry of Rural Development, GOI who as AS(MHA) remained instrumental in getting conducted numerous TOT workshops on Human Trafficking all over India. She thanked Sh. S.N. Shrivastava, Spl.CP/Trg., Delhi and Sh. Robin Hibu, Jt. CP/Trg. for successfully organising the workshop. She requested the participants to impart the knowledge gained in this workshop to the prosecutors in their respective States.
