Tuesday*Listen to In the Small, Small Pond. Go to

https://classroommagazines.scholastic.com/support/learnathome/grades-1-2.html. Click on week 2 – Day 6: Earth Science-Ponds and then In the Small, Small Pond

and listen to the story. Make a list on a sheet of paper of the pond animals from the video and some of the verbs (actions) they do. Example: Frog – croaks and hops. You

can also play a game with a parent taking turns acting and guessing the animals.Read the story Life in a Pond and complete the puzzlers on the left-hand side bar. (They

are lots of fun!!!)*Write if this book is fiction or nonfiction and tell me 3 things you learned from the book.

*Rainbow write spelling words.*Cut out sight word flash cards found in your learning packet. Review flash cards every

about it: Why do you think the bus driver asks you not to let the pigeon drive the bus? Do you think the pigeon might have acted this way before?

*Change the ending of the story. What if the bus driver had said “yes” to the pigeon and let him drive the bus. What would happen? How would it change the story? You can

draw a picture to go with your new ending.*Read the story Car Safety and complete the puzzlers.

*Writing: Tell me three ways you can use a telescope and what you found most interesting about telescopes. (Give me some really good complete sentences to tell me

your answer.)*Art Activity – Fold a piece of paper in half. Look out the window. On the left side of the paper, draw the things you see in the sky during the day. On the right side of the paper, draw the things you see in the night. (You can wait till nighttime to do this step, or you

can do it during the daytime and imagine what you would see.). Are there any things you can see in the sky during the day and at night?

*Read The Fruit Bowl reading passage found in your learning packet. Color or highlight all the ‘ui’ words in the passage.

*Play Sight Word Concentration – Look for words that have the same number of letters while reading the word each time you turn it over.

*Complete the Mickey Possessive Noun Activity in learning packet.*Read a book and find sight words in the book or read a book on Raz-kids at www.raz-

next, then, and last in the story. *Read Empathy: I Know How You Feel and complete the puzzlers.

*Complete the Color by Long U Spelling Pattern phonics activity in your learning packet.*Ask a parent to give you a practice and sight word spelling test.
