ABOUT US: The Macular Disease Foundation Australia (MDFA) is a national charity – currently with 14 staff. Its purpose is to reduce the incidence and impact of macular disease – the leading cause of legal blindness and severe vision loss in Australia. MDFA is about to launch its new Strategic Plan 2018-21 to expand its reach to benefit more Australians living with or at risk of eye diseases that affect the macula.
POSITION STATEMENT: MDFA is looking for a Digital Marketing and Content Officer with strong digital marketing and content experience. This role is part of a small team and reports to the Communications Manager. The purpose of this position is to work across the Foundation’s activities and build digital programs that lead to greater engagement with major stakeholders and help the Foundation achieve its marketing and fundraising goals.
The role of the Digital Marketing & Content Officer position will play a pivotal part in the digital capability of driving the development and growth of their online channels, assist in driving fundraising campaigns to support retention and drive acquisition

platforms Creating dynamic written,
graphic and video content in-line with the marketing and fundraising program.
Creating and implementing eDM campaigns
Develop and implement strong Google Adwords and Facebook acquisition activities.
Co-ordinate Social Media calendar, build brand awareness
% increase in reach, engagement and conversion across social media and digital platforms.
Implementation of MDFA blog
Conversion of content into donor prospect
Positive customer feedback response
Manage website and CMS
Work with service provider to maintain CMS channels
Manage website content, including editing and copywriting new content to engage with customers
Devise paid and organic search programs (SEO, SEM)
Champion a digital first culture internally.
% increase in conversion from SEM activities
Content is technically correct, organic and up to date
All content and campaigns are delivered to high brand standard and to deadline.
Quality & Compliance Ensure MDFA is Privacy compliant
Work with Management to ensure that solutions to meet security requirements related to function, protection, assurance, risk management and compliance.
MDFA works towards external quality certification.
Policy and compliance is documented
Reporting Provide analytical reports to Director of Marketing across all digital channels
Monthly reports (or otherwise requested) on digital output.
ESSSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a digital marketing role in health, fundraising, agency or similar industry.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Marketing / Communication / Technology Technically savvy, excellent communicator, and able to navigate traditional marketing
into the digital and online fundraising space Proficient is Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Marketing Automation tools
(Mailchimp, Campaign Monitors) Solid experience in creating content for online and social platforms for fundraising Experience running end to end campaigns Demonstrated ability to create engaging content across websites and social media
channels Experience of both SEO, SEM Excellent writing skills Experience in managing agencies/service providers Experience in managing website CMS
DESIRABLE: Understanding of the Not for Profit sector Positive ‘can-do’ attitude who works collaboratively with people Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT CRM
