FEBRUARY SOUTH GONDER UPDATE, 2016 D ear Friends, It’s been all go here! I was able to spend a short holiday over Christmas with my family in UK. I returned just in time to celebrate a wonderful holiday program with our mothers & children’s project. It was a happy day with the children entertaining us and sharing a wonderful meal of roasted beef prepared by our mothers. The highlight of the day was the Christmas clothing gifts– each child receiving a pack of approx 10 items. Our mothers cannot afford to buy clothes and it’s important in this culture for children to wear new clothing at epiphany. A good time was had by all! A team of 4 from our project were able to attend the annual leadership training and BEZA church conference in Addis. I was honoured to represent our project at the annual state opening prayer breakfast at the Africa Union. We were able to pray for Africa, its leaders and commit the Africa Union program to the Lord. It was an amazing time! I am delighted to now be employed by Speen Church and the transfer process culminated with a new work permit for 2016. Thanks God! Work continues well at the project. The midyear school break was enjoyed in February. The Kindergarten now has a proper sign and follows the government regulations with a flag ceremony every day. For our mothers there are some promising opportunities for the silk and cotton groups with the possibility to sell their yarn to church based ethical trading links. Additionally we have continued our trainings outreaching to the community- last week sharing women’s and children’s issues with teachers and community professionals (see above).

FEBRUARY SOUTH GONDER UPDATE, 2016

Dear Friends, It’s been all go here!

Sending our love and thanking you for your support, Moira on behalf of SG Team.
