Sharing a story
Share a rhyming story at home. Prompt children to listen for rhyming words and maybe come up with some suggestions of their own.
Lots of books can be found on youtube including those by one of our favourite authors Julia Donaldson.
Rhyming robot
Rhyming robots need to be fed rhyming words. Adults pretend to be a rhyming robot. You give your child a word (spoken / written / drawn)
Children are to find as many rhyming words as possible. They could write or draw these.
Building rhyming phrases
Use the rhyming words from the rhyming robot activity to help build silly sentences or phrases.
These could be written by the child or an adult could help to scribe.
Putting your poem together
Combine your silly sentences to write a silly poem.
You could also draw pictures to go with it.
Perform your poem
Can you perform your silly poem to your family, friends or siblings?
We would love to see them too! You can send them via our school 360 email address!

To log in you need to scroll down to under the username and password boxes and click the EYFS login (see photo above)From here you enter your 5-digit number and click on the correct colour and object.
Please continue to use the Read Write Inc online lesson resources outlined last week. In addition to these you can have a go at some of the phonic games on Busy Things – this is accessed by clicking the monster on your child’s 360 homepage. Go to the reception or class number set up and various phonic games can be found within the Literacy, Communication and Language sections.
Feel free to explore the other areas too and if you would like to email us any work, pictures, photos etc please do via our class teacher school 360 email address. We would love to see what you have been up to!
Several people have been asking how your children can earn points so they can change their avatars. Unfortunately, these can only be allocated by teachers, although you should get 5 points every time you log on. If you know that your child has been working particularly hard whilst completing busy bees activities please let us know via our school 360 email address and we will be able to allocate additional points. If you open the activities via the class 1 or class 2 button (rather than through the reception one) when you save work to your files we can also see it. Likewise, we can give points for stories etc shared with us. We hope that this will help your children to engage with the online learning.
