Elevation Profile of the Charity Walk (trail #7)

Google Earth Pro image of the Charity Walk:

Justification:

I decided to pick Trail number 7 at North Wake Landfill District Park, because the trail is located in a great spot inside the park for visitors to come together and walked for a great cause. I picked this location for a walk because it is near parking lots for participants in the charity walk, and there is plenty of space for families to enjoy the greenways for a picnic and playground area for children. This trail will allow visitors to enjoy the scenery of the park during a walk on the trail and provides extractions for all ages.

I believe in the 2,471-ft. walk in the park will be a short challenge for participants to complete, and the elevation levels in the walk can be related to our mental health having highs and lows, but through education and support we can overcome those obstacles in life.

Lessons Learned:

During this week, I learned about the basic concepts of google earth pro. I learned once I clicked on the layers for this assignment I was able to see updated details of the park in NC. It was also interesting to learn that through google earth pro, we are able to view the elevation profile of trails. The elevation profile information can be very helpful in creating an event for participants to come together and walk. I was able to pick the best location for water stations and first aid stations for participants during the charity walk, instead of just placing stations in random places.
