We know that good stories have a beginning, a middle and end. Today, you are going to use this picture as the setting of your story. You need to start your story by using adjectives to describe the Viking village below. Ask yourself, what time of day is it? Where is it? What is the name of the village?

Don’t forget your capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Read it out loud to check it makes sense.

Look around your house - find 10 things of different sizes to measure. Use a tape measure or ruler to measure in centimetres. Write the measurements down. What else could you use to measure things with? Hands or paces may be. You could measure the length of your bedroom, living room or garden as well as smaller things.
