How to submit homework on Google Classroom

This is a helpful guide on how to submit assignments and documents on your child’s Google Classroom. Start by following the steps below:

1. Login into Google Classroom through your Glow Account. https://sts.platform.rmunify.com

2. Click on the classwork tab, all your assignments should be listed here.

3. Click on the assignment you want to submit work for.

In this screen you can also add comments as follows:

1. Class comments – allowing you to submit comments which everyone can see.

Or

2. Private comments – that are only accessible by the teacher.

Assignments with no attachments

The first type of assignment is one with no attachments.

1. Click view assignment

2. On the right of the screen it says “+ add or create” click here.

You should have a drop down menu with the following options:

1. Google Drive – this is if you have created your own document and saved it in Google Drive.

2. Link – will add links to websites.

3. File – will take you to the files on your computer – if you have taken photos or made a Word doc to submit.

If adding photos or documents from your computer:

1. Clicking the file button should take you to the files on your computer. Youcan locate the file and attach it.

2. For photos, go to the photos on your computer, as you click the photos you want to add, they will be added to the assignment.

3. For word documents, it is the same procedure. Click on the document you want to add and they will be added to your assignment.

It should also have options for Docs, Slides, Sheets and Drawings. These options are for creating your own documents. Clicking on these will allow you to create files of your own, which will be saved automatically on Google Drive. You can then submit these using the Google Drive Option at the top.

Please Note:

If you are using an I-pad/tablet – the options will all appear at the bottom of the screen and not top, right and left.

When you have added your files, they should appear beside name at the right of your screen.

You can now click “Hand in”. Your assignment is now submitted.

Assignments with attachments

If your teacher has made assignments with Google Docs, it is a slightly different way to submit work.

1. Click on assignment using the drop down options.

2. Click view assignment

3. You can leave a class comment (everyone will see) or private comment that only the teacher can see.

4. The document should be there in the box with your name on it. (top right)

You can work on the document and it save automatically. When you are finished, click on “Turn in” (top) and you can go back to the class page.

If you are not finished working on the document you can simply come out of the document. When you return, it will be saved where you left off and you can continue. When you are finished, simply click Turn in (purple button)

When you return to the class page, it should not say “Turned in” next to the assignment.
