Isaiah 40: 30-31

The central ISSUE is that N.C.E.C. provides an ideal educative process for the recovering addict. The relatively small class groups ensure that the student benefits from individual tuition in all subjects. The teachers are dedicated and passionate about the subjects they teach.

A concluding incentive is that most schools are reluctant, and at times adamantly refuse to allow admission to a student who has a drug dependency history. The N.C.E.C., obviously does not consider this aspect a negative factor, and is there primarily to serve such students.

It is for the above-mentioned reasons that we urge you to consider enrolling your child in our program until he/she has completed their matriculation. After all, finally achieving, and finishing any course of action is a vital step in the recovery process.

It must, however, be stipulated that is a pupil misbehaves so badly that he/she is sent on discipline time and again we reserve the right to withdraw, said pupil, from school. They would be required to repeat the year of study. This is in the interests of not only the said pupil, but also protects those pupils who are applying themselves.

A further aspect is that N.C.E.C. is considering enrolling in the I.E.B. system of schooling. Further information will be forwarded to parents when available.

Yours faithfully,P.A. ROUMANOF F Principal

NOUPOORT CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COLLEGE

We are proud to welcome you to Noupoort Christian Education College. Like us you realise that your future security and prosperity depends on the training and qualifications you obtain today. You cannot afford to get left behind. We are a private school, registered with the Department of Education of the Northern Cape - so students are assured that they are studying through an institution that abides by the educational quality requirements of the government regulatory authorities, which stipulates that all students must be registered by 15 March latest. This now applies to registered student changing provinces as well. We require a copy of their last school report (if this is not supplied we cannot register the student) as well as a copy of their I.D. document or birth certificate.

COMPULSORY ONE YEAR

The Educational Programme is a one year compulsory programme for any Student who attends the Noupoort Christian Care Centre as the student has lost vital educational time by using drugs and substances; it would be a waste of time and money if the Student leaves Noupoort Christian Care Centre before they recover. This is a process that takes time and, therefore, you as a parent, guardian or sponsor must encourage the student to remain for the year to complete their recovery and educational programme. It is disruptive to all students should one pupil leave the Educational Programme before completing one year.

In order for all residents / students to recover in a positive environment, it is necessary to remove negative elements from the mainstream of the programme. The disciplinary program in CI is to accommodate residents who qualify for expulsion.

CI will be separate and isolated and will have its own dining area and ablution facilities and thus can be run as a totally separate entity. The level of discipline will be stricter than the centre or the Girls House (e.g. military style inspections and parades) in order to build team spirit, respect and self-control.

On or before arrival at CI, the sponsor / guardian will be informed . In the event of continued non-compliance, we will have no other choice but to expel the resident.

While at the disciplinary facility the resident is encouraged to submit to the CI rules and complete the specified time. Both counsel and support is given, so that the resident / student can be reintegrated back into the mainstream program.

ii) Staff at CI

The disciplinary programme will be run by N.C.C.C. staff that have successfully completed the recovery program. Management and the multi-disciplinary team regularly monitor and interview the CI residents to encourage them and to assess their progress. A professional nurse is on call 24 hours.
