Miss Sloper Class 4I am very excited about having a newclass in September and starting ourlearning journey together. Here is a little bit about Me!
I have been teaching at Glenaire for nearly 3 years now! I have been teaching for 6 years and I now lead several subjects across our school. I have taught in many schools across England and have lived in lots of different places.
My hobbies are walking in the countryside, horse riding, open water swimming and travelling.
My favourite subjects are English, Maths, Science and Art.
My favourite books are the Harry Potter series, as I started reading them when I was 11 and continued to read them throughout secondary school.
I am very friendly and bubbly but I am a firm but fair teacher. I will always listen to your stories and take an interest in what you have to say. I like a calm, quiet classroom, where everyone’s opinion is valued and the work produced is to be proud of.
I am looking forward to seeing lots of happy faces in September.
Transition Guide to Parents
To make your child’s transition as smooth as possible I have put together some key learning points you can do with your child at home, over the summer holidays.
Times Tables
By the end of Year 2 your child should know their 2x, 5x, 10x. By the end of Year 3 they should know
3x 4x 8x. They should also know the inverse division calculations of these multiplications.
Learn to read and spell to Year 3/4 Spelling words.
Reading
Your child should be reading daily, a book of their choice. Why not have a family book that you read
together?
Discuss what has been read with your child to build up their understanding and comprehension
skills.
