4TH QUARTER UPDATE OF PORT-HARCOURT MINISTRIES 2020

TEXT: “Sing unto the LORD; FOR He hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth” Isaiah 12:5.

Happy New Year to all my praying and supportive friends; partners in the work of the Gospel in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria.

THE CHURCH: The Church is progressing with many visitors coming. We are grateful that God kept us in our place to make a difference from all the noise around us. One of the high chiefs of our area worshipped twice with us. Our landlord also worshipped twice. Pray that we should keep our evangelistic flavor alive. We had a few who were baptized during this time also.

ANNUAL REFORMED BIBLE CONFERENCE 2020. The Seminary took their exams in November. The conference took place from 19th – 22nd Nov. 2020. We had a very good attendance in all the days. 300 Pastors registered. Matriculation and graduation took place on Saturday and ordination and thanksgiving on Sunday.

We also graduated 19 students in Owerri (a capital city of Imo State, 103.3km from Port Harcourt) our distant campus on 14th Dec. 2020.

FUNERALS: There were many funerals we attended. In some of

them I was to preach the Gospel. We also took the opportunities and shared the TBS Bibles to the Church leaders and the families concerned. All was well appreciated and thanks were returned to God for His word both preached and received in copies.

WEDDINGS: During this quarter, two of our pastors wedded. Pastor Alexander Amadi of Emohua Church wedded Gift Chuku on 5th December and Pastor Idy Jacob of New Covenant Reformed Baptist Church, Township in Port Harcourt wedded Gloria Ambrose. Both were well ordered making a difference from the entertainment galore going on around us. The Gospel was preached in both of them.

THE REFORMED PASTORS FELLOWSHIP: Due to the TBS free Bibles distribution, we have a steady number of 50 plus Pastors gathering every 2nd Thursday every month. This also contributed to the good attendances during the conference. Many of them are establishing a relationship with us for the sake of the truth they have come in contact with.

BIBLES AND CHRISTIAN LITERATURES DISTRIBUTIONS: We are now the centre of free Bible distribution in our area. Many have benefited from this exercise with great testimonies. Many who because of hardship could not afford a new Bible would jump up for joy of a new free Bible. A student of the seminary took a Bible to a Muslim woman with the undertaking that she should hide it from her husband. Reading it with joy she left the Bible on her bed only for her to see the husband picked the Bible and asked, “Who gave you a Bible?” She hesitated to answer thinking he is offended, but the tone changed with him saying, “I need my own as well”. We sent one also to him.

Another man received a free Westminster Reference Bible and said, “I have never received a free Bible in my life in many years of being a Christian. Many pastors have come to receive a free Bible to any new convert.

During this quarter also we have received many boxes of 2021 Golden Thought Calendar for distributions by the pastors to their churches and neighbors. We also have received and distributed 3 boxes of books each from the Chapel Library, Christian Books Worldwide and 40 copies of Evangelical Times International.

FAMILY NEWS: My wife Grace still in Jos with our daughters is getting better now on drugs. But when the drugs has finished she relapse to depression. It is that she has to be on drugs to get

better. My senior brother of 73 years died on November 4th, 2020. His funeral is fixed for 20th February, 2021. I am doing well and strong and travel far and near for ministries. Do pray for the Grace of God for this New Year Ministries.
