How does your media product represent particular social groups? In my opening sequence I have tried to challenge stereotyping in order to enhance the enigma I have tried to create. The main character in my piece is wearing a hoodie which is generally stereotyped into a ‘hooded’ social group, from this people believe they are a menace to society as that is how they are portrayed as a delinquent adolescent and the hood is to hide their identity. This still is a photo representing the stereotype social group my character falls under.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

In my opening sequence I have tried to challenge stereotyping in order to enhance the enigma I have tried to create.

The main character in my piece is wearing a hoodie which is generally stereotyped into a ‘hooded’ social group, from this people

believe they are a menace to society as that is how they are portrayed as a delinquent adolescent and the hood is to hide their identity.

This still is a photo representing the stereotype social group my character falls under. This shot reflects my

protagonist straight away, this worked well as this stereotype is usually someone the audience wouldn’t identify with helps create tension and mystery in my piece.

The only other identifiable character is at the end of my piece, the audience only see’s the man’s shoes and shirt sleeve.

He is seen as a man of power compared to the hooded guy so these two naturally clash.
