P5 plan for week beginning 5/05/2020

Here is a story written by a teacher to help his class deal with not going to school anymore. It’s really fun. Try to read a couple of chapters each day or, if you can, see if someone will read them to you! Then I could make lots of cool costumes to wear every day!

What to do if you suspect you or a member of your household has Cabin Fever?  What should we do if everyone has Cabin fever?

PosterCan you create a poster about coronavirus that includes a clear title, good illustrations and at least five facts about this virus? It would be great if you managed to include some 3D or moving parts on the poster. In school we learnt how to fold zigzags of paper to make things pop out and we had those cool little split pins!

JigsawEverybody seems to be completing jigsaws. Can you design a very tricky picture and then cut it into at least 20 jigsaw pieces? Remember that they have pieces sticking out that fit in to other pieces. Once you have cut it out can you muddle up the pieces and then ask someone else to complete your jigsaw. You could time them! Once they have finished can you use an old box and decorate it to store your jigsaw in. When we get back to school we can have a jigsaw time!

Ryan’s Thinker KeysWe are all in lockdown just now due to the coronavirus. Use the Brainstorming Key to think about 10 interesting ways that we can safely exit lockdown and return to school.

Create a postcardDesign a Postcard to send to cheer up a friend. Write a message on the back to help them with positive thinking (Children can take a pic of this and post it on Teams for their friends to see?)

Questions and keywordsA lot of people are talking about coronavirus and Covid 19. Can you write 5 – 10 good questions about this virus and think of at least five new words that you have heard e.g.Why do people have to socially distance? Should we wash our hands regularly?You can always use Bloom’s Taxonomy to structure your questions.
