It showcases just a few of the hundreds of funding opportunities available for local community, voluntary and faith organisations.

voluntary, community, social enterprise sector organisations like
yours to find suitable funding.
By becoming a member of Macc you will gain access to our free
funding portal of funding opportunities. Please note: To be eligible
to access our funding portal you must be a voluntary, community, social enterprise sector (VCSE)
organisations working in the City of Manchester with at least 50% of your beneficiaries in the City

LOCALThe Equity Foundation Aims/priorities: The Equity Foundation, part of Equity
Housing Group, aims to help people make positive changes in
their communities. Equity Housing Group has a focus on ten Heartland areas: Barnsley, Cheshire
East, Cheshire West, High Peak, Manchester, Rotherham, Sheffield, Stockport, Tameside and
Trafford. Projects must take place in one of the postcode areas listed on the Guidance Notes.
Who can apply? Constituted and un-constituted community groups, registered charities, social
enterprises and Community Interest Companies (CIC) can apply
Grant amount: The Small Grants Fund offers grants of up to £1,000

FM Awards – Cash 4 GraftAims/priorities: Cash 4 Graft rewards resident involvement and
volunteering time with between £50 and £250 to help get community ideas
off the ground. The awards are matched with the passion and effort of
residents and their neighbours who work together to create and develop
projects and are available in various areas of Greater Manchester.
Who can apply: Forever Manchester support smaller organisations with a track record of
attracting funding or a turnover under £150,000 per annum
Grant amount: Awards between £50 and £250 are available

Ford Britain TrustAims/priorities: Ford Britain Trust is committed to supporting
the communities they work and live in. That’s why they have
created the Ford Britain Trust in April 1975 to help fund the
education and advancement of their neighbours. Ford Britain Trust pay special attention to
projects focusing on education, environment, children, the disabled, youth activities and projects
that provide clear benefits to the local communities close to their UK locations, which includes
Manchester. The Ford Britain Trust particularly encourages applications from Ford employees, but
is open to all, provided that the qualifying organisations meet their selection criteria. Grant
applications supporting the following activities will be considered:
Work that has clear benefits to the local community/environment
Work with young people/children
Education/schools (mainstream)
Special education needs
People with disabilities
Who can apply? Registered charities; Schools/PTAs (Non-fee paying, state sector schools only;

FordBritainTrust/Overview
Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Grants ProgrammeAims/priorities: Grants are available to support school breakfast clubs.
Who can apply: The breakfast club must be based in a school. Priority will be
given to schools that have 40% and above of children eligible for pupil
premium funding. Only one grant per school in each academic year is available
Grant amount: Up to £1,000

Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund Aims/priorities: The Manchester Airport Community Trust Fund is a
registered charity and was established to promote, enhance, improve and
protect both the natural and built environment in our local community. To be
successful a group must:
Carry out positive work in the community and be of charitable nature and be ‘Not for
Profit’ status
Be community, socially or environmentally focused
Based within the area of benefit
Who can apply? Community groups and charities that are approximately within a 10-mile radius
of the Airport, concentrating on the areas most exposed to aircraft noise

Manchester Guardian Society Charitable TrustAims/priorities: The Manchester Guardian Charitable Trust is a grant making charity which
makes donations to a wide variety of community based organisations in the Greater Manchester
area. The Trustees are particularly interested in the following:
Organisations for young people e.g. scouts, guides, youth organisations
Provision for the sick and disabled
Assistance for groups providing for the elderly and disadvantaged members of society
Support for educational initiatives by arts organisations particularly for children and young

Neighbourhood Investment FundsAims/priorities: These are funds available to
communities to make their neighbourhoods better
places to live. £20,000 of neighbourhood investment
funding is available to every area (ward) in Manchester each year – to help groups carry out
events and activities that benefit people in their local neighbourhood.
Who can apply? The fund is open to established groups, voluntary groups and other community
groups, as well as groups of residents working together for the first time. School Parent Teacher
Associations can also apply if they have the support of local residents and parents and the project
benefits the wider community as well as the school.
Grant amount: Applications should not exceed £10,000

Outdoor Learning and Adventurous Activities Fund
Aims/priorities: Young Manchester is pleased to launch a new fund for the
city, set up to engage children and young people in outdoor learning and
adventurous activities. The grants scheme supports the city’s vision for
outdoor learning – Learning Through Adventure 2017 – 2020:

fund is to provide outdoor learning and adventurous activity opportunities for young people aged 8
– 19 years (up to 25 for those young people with a disability).
Who can apply? Voluntary and community sector organisations
Grant amount: The fund will be making grants of between £500 and £2,000, with organisations
able to apply for up to three grants for the year, ending 31 March 2019.

ARTSArt Council Project Grants Aims/priorities: The Arts Council gives support a broad range of not-for-
profit projects that create and sustain quality work and help people across
England to engage with arts and culture. The programme supports
development by allowing artists, cultural practitioners and organisations to
work in new ways and to get their work out to new audiences.
Who can apply? Individuals, organisations, museums and libraries
Grant amount: Between £1,000 and £100,000
Application process: Take the online quiz, then register on Grantium you cannot start your
application until your new applicant profile is approved, which may take up to ten working days

BlueSpark FoundationAims/priorities: Grants are available to improve the
education and development of children and young people

Variety Youth Club Programme Aims/priorities: Applications are intended to be for items of equipment.
However, on occasion, applications for improvement of youth club
premises, existing equipment or facilities will also be considered.
Who can apply? Youth organisations which are affiliated to either
Ambition, UK Youth or National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs.
Grant amount: £200 to £600

COMMUNITYNational Vegetarian Week Grants Aims/priorities: Grant applications should be for activities which
promote a vegetarian diet to the wider community.
Who can apply? Not for profit organisations in the UK (e.g. community
groups, schools, housing associations, youth clubs, Cubs, Brownies,
Scouts or Guides). Informal groups of friends, parents or students. Student vegetarian and vegan
societies and other vegetarian and vegan groups.

ENVIRONMENTGreggs Foundation – Environmental Grant Aims/priorities: They are interested in projects that improve the
physical environment in a way that will improve people's lives.
Who can apply? Any not for profit organisation can apply,
preference will be given to small, locally based and community led organisations with a turnover
not in excess of £300,000 per annum.

More than a Pub: The Community Pub Business Support ProgrammeAims/priorities: The programme is seeking communities looking to
consider taking responsibility for and ownership of their local pub,
through purchase or long-term lease.
Who can apply? Co-operative Societies, Companies Limited by Guarantee and Community
Interest Companies (large membership).
Grant amount: Flexible bursary awards of up to £2,500 (inclusive of VAT) to fund pre-feasibility
costs such as public consultation and valuations. Combined loan and grant funding up to
£100,000. This will not exceed £75,000/£50,000 in grant contribution.
Application process: The first step in the application process is to fill out an online Initial Enquiry
Form which can be found on the Plunkett Foundation website.

Sylvia Waddilove Foundation
Aims/priorities: The project relates to one or more of the
following charitable purposes: Education; Musical
composition; Herbal medicine; Medical Research,

Who can apply? Registered charities, CICs, or are 'small' in so far as its income and assets

HEALTH & WELLBEINGFamily Action Welfare Grants ProgrammeAims/priorities: The Family Action Welfare Grants Programme helps prevent an immediate crisis from spiralling and
threatening the stability of families and individuals.
Who can apply? All applications must be made by a suitable referring agency on behalf
of a family. Suitable referring agencies include: statutory agencies or charities that
provide health or social care; housing associations; probation services and GP’s.

Triangle Trust 1949 Aims/priorities: Organisations supporting unpaid carers and
people being cared for can apply for a Development Grant
which provides core funding to support them to implement a step change in their development and

Aims/priorities: The Respect scheme wants ensure that
football – both on and off the pitch – continues to be enjoyable,
inclusive and a positive experience for all. This scheme offers the opportunity to purchase Respect
equipment which, if used effectively, will help us to achieve this.
Who can apply? FA affiliated clubs, FA affiliated leagues, Schools based in England

Respect equipment from the Football Foundation shop.
