ape ape Apes are part of a family of animals that humans belong to. Gorillas, Chimpanzees and Orangutans are all types of ape. One thing that all apes have in come is that they don’t have tails.

extinct ext - inct Extinct means that ALL of them died so there are none left today. Dinosaurs and the Dodo (a type of bird) are both animals that are well known for being extinct.

Australopithecus Os - tra - lo - pith- ec - us An early type of human which became extinct but may be an ancestor of modern humans.

Homosapiens ho - mo - sap - iens Homosapiens is just another word for humans. All people are homosapiens.
