The efficiency machine. Dimplex launches the latest LA S-TU series: highly efficient air-to-water heat pumps for external installation. For new construction and refurbishment, sound-optimised, individual.

Kulmbach, March 2015. The new LA S-TU series by Dimplex sets new standards. With the three performance classes 9, 12 and 18 kW respectively the LA S-TU is designed for top performance: in the new energy label, the air-to-water heat pumps for external installation achieve efficiency classes of A++ at a flow temperature of 35°C (9 kW model) to A+++ for integrated systems (18 kW model). If required, all models can be supplied reversible, i.e. with a cooling option. The machines are fitted with fewer, pre-installed connections, saving the installer 50% of installation time. The LA S-TU series is suitable for new construction as well as refurbishment, and reduces sound emissions through optimised air flow and EC fans. The colour of the housing can be selected from the 1,625 colours of the RAL range, providing greater individuality. The optional 10 year guarantee provides owners with long-term security.

Simply more applications.Dimplex does away with old misconceptions – with the idea, for example, that air-to-water heat pumps are primarily suited to new buildings with underfloor heating. The 18 kW model of the LA S-TU series can also be used to heat with classical radiators efficiently, thanks to its high flow temperatures of up to 60°C. At the same time the LA S-TU units are ideal for clients who want to install or modernise an underfloor heating system (e.g. with 9 kW for single-family houses and 12 kW for multiple-family houses). Whereby is applied “one size fits all”: As the housing has the same size for all three performance classes – each is though ideally dimensioned. This ensures that the 9 kW machine is extremely quiet; and the 18 kW model is record-breaking small for its output.

Simply more efficiency – for top energy label marks.The performance data of the LA S-TU series are impressive for all three models: so the LA 9S-TU with 9 kW output achieves a COP of 4.0 at an outside temperature of 2°C, and a flow temperature of 35°C. During part-load operation, the COP even increases to 4.2. There is an EU directive that introduces the well-know efficiency labels also for heat-generating devices, starting from September 2015: and here also the LA S-TU series achieves – Contrary to heating systems with fossil fuels – the top efficiency class A++ (at 35°C flow temperature).

If the Dimplex Hydrotower with hot water preparation is added, the top efficiency class A for hot water preparation is on the combined label. And on the integrated label, the LA 18S-TU as a combined heat pump heating system including controls, achieves the sensational result: A+++ (in a low-temperature heating system with a flow temperature of 35°C).

Simply more options. Simply less limited.All LA S-TU models are optionally also available with reversible function, with the cooling circuit running in the opposite direction. In that mode the LA S-TU heat pump can operate on PV power which, in summer, is naturally in ample supply, working just as efficiently to cool the water that runs through the underfloor (distribution system) and herewith the whole room to a comfortable temperature.

Simply more satisfied neighbours. Simply less trouble. Many building owners and neighbours are concerned about sound emissions. The LA 9S-TU for example appeals with a sound level of only 57 dB (A); it is equipped with EC fans of the latest design and has an innovative air flow in the housing, which filters out annoying low frequencies. The result: nothing more than a silent breeze can be heard.

Simply more individuality. Simply less grey. On request, the LA S-TU series is available with design hood and in all 1,625 colours of the RAL range; in this way, the series sets standards also in terms of appearance: for deliberate colour choices or a perfect match with the building facade or green areas. Simply more carefree. Simply less service-trouble.Dimplex grants a longer warranty time than the long ago implemented two years mandatory by law: If the first implementation is done by Dimplex customer service, the guarantee is extended to up to five years. This time span can be doubled on request: one decade free of trouble for the owner – and maximum safety for the installer, who can rely on the partner Dimplex also in the area of after-sales. „You have to be courageous for a ten-year-guarantee“, Jochen Engelke, CEO of Glen Dimplex Germany states: „This is proving how sure we are, that we have exceeded our high quality standards with the LA S-TU heat pump once more.“

Simply installed faster. Simply less stress.The new LA S-TU series has been designed to systematically take account of the requirements of installers. Compared to competitor models, these units can be installed in half the time on average! An installation near a wall (within 0.5 metres) minimises groundwork; there is also no laborious installation of lining sets. All housing panels are fully pre-assembled and fitted. Two hydraulic connection pipes are sufficient; the optimised electrics are easy and straightforward to connect. In combination with the Dimplex Hydrotower, installation is particularly efficient: all hydraulic and electric components are fully pre-assembled and integrated – this alone will save installers seven hours of installation time! The new EasyOn technique makes the first implementation of LA S-TU models easier by pre-programmed codes which enable the fast setting of required configuration and minimise the risk for mistakes.
