ImPACT Cheat Sheet
Baselines – Can be done by sending the patient a code to do at home (or in the clinic or computer lab)
Post-Injury tests – MUST BE DONE IN THE CLINIC – Do Not send them a code-You must log in to the impact site and select “Start New Test” and select to perform a “Post-Injury Test”

Baseline Test Validity: (Check regularly)-Invalid = Baseline ++-Also ensure:
1. Word Memory Learning % Correct = >90% (if less = possible sandbagging)2. Word Memory Delayed % Correct = >81% (if 81 or less = possible sandbagging)*Sandbagging = trying to fail (Higgins et al., 2017)
-If either one of these scenarios call the patient and inform them that their test came back invalid and they must perform it again (same link, same code)-If invalid again have them come into the clinic to perform it in a quiet room (start the test by logging in)
Invalidity Indicators:-these are the reasons a test may be marked Baseline ++• Three Letters - Total Letters Correct < 8• X's and O's - Total Incorrect (interference) > 30• Word Memory - Learning Percent Correct < 69%• Design Memory - Learning Percent Correct < 50%• Impulse Control - Composite Score > 30
Interpreting Post-Injury Tests1) With a Baseline – More accurate
-System uses “Reliable Change Indices” to determine significant changes from baseline-Automatically highlights the areas that are significant vs. baseline scores
• Verbal Memory Composite– Change greater than 8 points
• Visual Memory Composite– Change greater than 13.5 points
• Visual Motor Speed Composite– Change greater than 5.5 points
• Reaction Time Composite- Change greater than 0.06 seconds
**If any composite score on a post-injury test is equal to or more than this much different, then that indicates a significant change from baseline (i.e., fail)
2) Without a Baseline -If no baseline, then use normative data – Need to know the person’s academic level/GPA-Not very accurate – 52% to 54% misclassification rate when using norms!! (Schatz et al., 2014)-Next Page – good to keep these charts handy (note: age-specific)
