Objective: Listen for how a story is read with expression. Answer questions about a story. Learn some new oral vocabulary words. Learn new sight words (find,this).
Activity:
● Listen to the story It Is the Wind by Ferida Wolff. Talk about the story by asking questions. Where is the boy? in his bedroom What is the boy doing? listening to sounds outside his window What sounds does the boy hear? an owl hooting, a dog howling, ect. What happens at the end of the story? The boy falls asleep. What kinds of sounds do you hear outside your bedroom window?
● Practice new sight words - find, this. Complete practice sheet by writing sentences on a piece of paper. Label top of page name and date.
Modifications: Listen to the story as many times as needed

Objective: Letter-Keyword-Sound for consonants
Activity: ● Have someone choose 5-10 letters for you to echo.● Say the following words for student to tap out: map
bit bat red fun● Real vs. Nonsense words (below)- on a sheet of
paper, write down all of the real words. Be sure to write your name and date on page.
Modification: Choose as many letters as you wish to echo.
Guided Practice: Following page 443 below, draw 2 ten frames on top of a piece of paper. Have student explore making 14 by filling the top ten-frame with counters (cereal, toys, pennies, your choice). How many counters are in the ten frame? Write the number beside the top ten-frame. Have student place four counters in bottom ten-frame. How many counters are in the bottom ten frame? Write the number beside the bottom ten-frame.Count all counters in top and bottom ten-frames. What number does 10 and four more make? Have students say and write the number below
the frames. Pg. 444-445 You do not need to make 10 Frames! Only record answers (For example: 1. 10 and 1 more is 11).
Pg.446 Draw 10 frames and record answers.
Objective: Write a complete sentence.
Activity: Write a sentence using the sight word: find. Illustrate. Write name and date on top of page.
