Tell us which pet you would like and which you are not so keen on, using the phrase quiero (I want) or no quiero (I don’t want)
You could draw a picture of the pets you would want or not want, make a google slide to show this, type some sentences… use your imagination to show what you know.
Tip: Remember to change ‘the’ to ‘a’. If the animal is el gato (the cat), change this to un gato. If the animal is la iguana (the iguana) change this to una iguana. You can now tell us if you want a cat or an iguana, or any other pet that you have found out about.
Here’s an example: Quiero una iguana. (I want an iguana). Quiero un gato. (I want a cat).

Have a look at the sky explorer’s log. Can you write your own version of a sky explorer’s log and explain what happened when you saw something in the sky that you didn’t expect. Perhaps it was a sky elephant or an air orca?Things to consider
● Tell the reader how you felt- what happened to you?
● Use your senses- say what you saw, smelled, heard.
● Think about your openers- are they exciting? Could you use a verb or an adverb?
● Add a question to pose to the reader. It makes them think!
● Can you use language swaps to include better vocabulary? Use a thesaurus to help!
● Use a collective noun (the name of the group) for your group of creatures.
● Use ‘show don’t tell’ techniques
Try and challenge yourself to write one page of A4 and you can use the same format at this example with the title, date and location.
