Dear Parents or Guardians,I am so lucky that your child is a student in my Creative Living I class. As part of the sewing portion of our curriculum, your child will construct one main sewing project in the near future.We offer your child a choice of one of a variety of character shaped pillow projects for which there is a $5 fee. The fee pays for the pattern, fabric, thread and other necessary notions, which are provided according to their personal choice. The pillow project gives your child the hands-on opportunity to learn how to read and follow a guide sheet, develop a variety of skills using a step-by-step method and attain both hand sewing and machine sewing skills.We will be ready to start this project soon. Please have your child bring in the payment on or before, Wednesday, November 21 st 2018 in the amount of $5. You may pay in cash, or, if you would like to pay by check, please make it payable to “Churchill G.O.F.” I will make every effort to accommodate your child’s choice of project.This project needs to be worked on regularly in class by your child. They will be held responsible to progress on schedule and finish on time. I offer work sessions after school, if extra time is needed. When the project is done, your child will not only have gained practical hands-on skills, but also the satisfaction of knowing that they completed multi-step tasks from beginning to end. This lab time has proved to be a fun and satisfying experience for most children.
