The Great Fire of LondonOur history topic this term is ‘The Great Fire of London’. I’m sure you will really enjoy learning about this fascinating event.First, we are going to look where this event fits into history. Have a look at the historical timeline on the class page.

Can you find the Battle of Hastings (1066) which we learnt about in the Autumn term? Can you find the Gunpowder Plot (1605)? We read the story of Guy Fawkes on November 5th,

Bonfire Night. He tried to blow up The Houses of Parliament. The Great Fire of London is the next event in the timeline. It took place in 1666. Have look at the events after 1666. Do you know anything about any of them?

You are going to have a look at a teaching video which will tell you how London grew from the time of William the Conqueror up to 1666. The teacher is called Mr Pedroza.
