Year 3 – Tuesday 7 th July 2020 Good morning my lovelies! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Over the weekend I made cookie- based brownies, they were delicious! As it was raining on and off, my husband and I had a car picnic. We had: cheese, Italian meat and olives with some fresh bread. To wash it down, we had strawberry lemonade. What would you have in your picnic basket? In school this week, we are writing spooky stories! Some children are writing about different spooky creatures; ghosts, monsters, werewolves and vampires while, other children are writing about spooky objects and mysterious happenings! Have a go at writing your own spooky story! Where will it be set? An abandoned school or an old rickety house. The aim is to spook the person reading the story, not prevent them from sleeping so don’t go too crazy! Don’t forget, you could end your story with a cliff hanger to make the reader want to know more! I am very excited to meet my new class next week as I am sure you are very excited to meet your new teacher and see your friends! I hope you have a lovely time over the summer, seeing friends and family and fingers crossed the sun will be out so you can make the most of it! I look forward to seeing you around school and wish you the very best.

Year 3 – Tuesday 7 th July 2020

Good morning my lovelies! I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Over the weekend I made cookie-based brownies, they were delicious! As it was raining on and off, my husband and I had a car picnic. We had: cheese, Italian meat and olives with some fresh bread. To wash it down, we had strawberry lemonade. What would you have in your picnic basket?

Some children are writing about different spooky creatures; ghosts, monsters, werewolves and vampires while, other children are writing about spooky objects and mysterious happenings! Have a go at writing your own spooky story! Where will it be set? An abandoned school or an old rickety house. The aim is to spook the person reading the story, not prevent them from sleeping so don’t go too crazy!

Don’t forget, you could end your story with a cliff hanger to make the reader want to know more!

Every night, when the city sleeps, they come out of hiding. Their home is far be-low the city, and during the day when the city is alive with activity like a hive of busy bees they spend their time planning and plotting their next job.

You see, during the night, when they think nobody will see them (they are ex-ceptionally small) they sneak around above ground. They take things. Valuable

things.

Have you ever had something go missing and wondered where it has gone? You may have just found the reason why!

Tonight is no different: they are on their way to make a small fortune…

This week, I would like you to continue this narrative. There are a number of things that you need to think about when planning for this.

1. Who or what is it that lives below the city?2. Why do they only take valuable things?3. Why do they take valuable things?4. What are they going to be taking tonight?

Be creative with this – use your imagination. They do not have to be human like creatures, they could be anything! In your first paragraph you will need to set the scene for your story, explain about the characters, the setting and some of the background to your story. Your second paragraph will lead into the build-up of your story, leading to the climax of your narrative.Your third paragraph will cover the resolution as well as the ending of your narrative.
