moving to a different school. Sophia: I will miss Calan because he is so funny. Brooklyn: I’ll miss the running race. Archie: I love playing in the lookout with him. Lottie: I miss playing with him because he likes me. Harry: I will miss Calan because I like playing Lego with him.Lewis: I like playing with Calan in the old lookout. Henry: I will miss playing games with him. Zoe: He chases me outside. Xander: He plays Superhero’s and I will miss races. Noah: I play with him in the sandpit. Elsie: I like putting a show on with him. Liam: Playing in the sandpit. Alexa: I like Calan because sometimes he plays

with me and sometimes he chases me. Charli: He plays with me and chases me a lot.

We often invite the children to draw a ‘self portrait’ as a way to extend their thinking and further develop their fine motor skills. Before beginning this experience we ask the children to look in a mirror and discuss what they see. We bring attention to fine details such as the hairs that make eyebrows or the inner parts of

the eyes. Through this the children become more aware of their individuality and develop greater concentration skills as they learn to

focus and tune in to small details.

Early Years Learning Framework Children have a strong sense of identity. Children feel respected and recognised for who they are.

Mind Body & Soul Our weekly ‘Mind, Body, Soul’ sessions are an important element of our program. They aim to strengthen the children’s sense of wellbeing by learning mindfulness strategies, yoga movements, breathing techniques and much more. This week we enjoyed the opportunity to engage more with nature by having our session outdoors. The children were presented with a magical box, which contained a special stone inside to keep safe during the session.
