Dear Parishioners, An extraordinary afternoon of stringed

music and beautiful voices will take

place in the church at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October

29th when the Filipino Arts & Music Ensemble

(FAME) Children Rondalla along with the Himig

at Alay Music Ministry and Our Lady of the Snows

Adult choir will present a unique concert event

with a magnificent musical piece, “Misa Criolla” composed by the Argentine composer, Ariel Ramires

(1921-2010.) Through the usage of local instruments, melodic voices and lively arrangement this musical

event will be delightful for all to hear!

The Filipino Arts and Music Ensemble is a group of musicians (called a rondalla) with stringed instruments

including the octavino and banderia played by adults and children capturing traditional Filipino music and

some contemporary songs. The presence of this special rondalla in our sanctuary space along with our own

musical groups will offer a fine afternoon of orchestra music and heavenly voices.

Concert tickets are only $10.00 per person and are now available in the Parish Office. Tickets will also be

available following the Masses next weekend. There is an attractive flyer in today’s bulletin with more

information.

Invite family and friends, fellow parishioners and young people to this special cultural and sacred event. If

you have any questions please call the Parish Office or email [email protected].

Thank you to the Our Lady of the Snows Adult Choir and the Our Lady of the Snows Himig at Alay Music

Ministry for its collaboration in bringing the Filiipino Arts and Music Ensemble to our church on Sunday,

October 29th.

OLSCA 7th Grade

The 7th grade at OLSCA currently consists of 61

students! Aside from their academic curriculum you

will find many of our students involved in many

community activities such as the Boys and Girls

Scouts, altar servers, student council members,

OSLAM Catholic Youth Group and CYO sports.

Even though their extra -curricular activities keep

them busy, the 7th grade students are working

diligently in all their subject areas and adjusting well

to their four teachers. Their homeroom teachers, Mrs.

Kulpa and Mrs. DeMarco not only teach Religion to

their homerooms, but ELA and Social Studies to both

7th and 8th grade students. In ELA, their writing skills

are constantly being reinforced as well as their

grammar and comprehension skills. In Social Studies,

they are covering the roots of the American people

and how Europe and the Native Americans have

influenced the growing colonies. Their math teacher,

Mrs. Chuber, is working on addition, subtraction,

multiplication, and division of positive and negative

fractions and decimal numbers. Mrs. Cullinan, their

science teacher, has gone over Lab Safety and the

Scientific Method and will be starting Earth Science.

It has been a great start to the school year and

everyone looks forward to the coming holiday season!
