CAI International, Inc. is one of the world’s leading intermodal freight container leasing and management companies. Founded in 1989 by shipping industry veterans, the company has steadily grown its business through container leasing and container investment management. We own a portion of the container fleet, managing the balance on behalf of international investors. Since 1989 our container fleet has grown from 37,000 Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEU) to over 1 Million TEU.

We serve approximately 240 shipping line customers worldwide with a leading-edge, global operating infrastructure. Our real-time equipment control system produces customized, accurate billing, and on-line reports are available at your convenience. After-Market Services

CAI has developed a number of programs to maximize the residual value of containers even after they are retired from use in international cargo shipping. We have established strategic partnerships within the portable storage industry in North America. SKY Container Trading Ltd. is a wholly-owned CAI subsidiary based in the United Kingdom arranging domestic and one-way leases and sales for used containers throughout Europe. CAI is also active in buying and selling third party fleets.

Our depot affiliations include approximately 250 facilities in 48 countries to provide you with logistical flexibility.

Since 1989, CAI International has provided highly responsive container leasing services to the intermodal shipping industry. With more than two decades of leasing experience, we provide customers with flexible leasing services and a dependable supply of new high-quality equipment and conveniently located depots. A global network of experienced professionals backed by real-time information technology gives customers up-to-the-minute visibility into their container fleets and enables us to deliver the most reliable service in the industry.

Our Container Investment Management services leverage more than over 20 years of experience in equipment investing. Clients benefit from our comprehensive industry experience in the global shipping industry along with our knowledge in commercial and investment banking. Our services cover the full life cycle of the container, including re-leasing, repair, repositioning, storage and maximization of residual value. Superior container specifications and strict quality control during the manufacturing process ensure protection of asset value.

CAI has successfully invested in new equipment for more than two decades making us uniquely qualified to invest on behalf of investors from around the world. We sell portfolios of containers with approximate terms from 8 to 12 years and we manage these assets based on our financial management and industry expertise. Portfolios generate return from container rental and sales, giving investors an attractive investment option. CAI is publicly traded (NYSE: CAP) and headquartered in San Francisco, California.
