Mission Statement

St. Margaret is a diverse Christian community centered on the Eucharist which makes present in our midst the mystery of our redemption in Christ. Here, we grow in faith and love for God and one another. Our lives proclaim the words of St. Paul: “You are strangers and aliens no longer. You are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God”. (Eph 2:19) You are welcome to journey with us. Together with our Blessed Mother, we give ourselves to do God’s will on earth as it is in Heaven.

THE HOLY FAMILYby: Fr. Dailon Lisabet

O n this first Sunday after Christmas, while we are still immersed in the joyful celebration of the Nativity, the Church calls us to contemplate the Holy Family of Nazareth. The Holy Family of Jesus was a family with problems and difficulties; but despite poverty, difficulties and uncertainties, they maintained their faith in God, they knew how to discover and collaborate with the divine plan. It is prayer, obedience to God and mutual love that holds them together in the middle of difficulties. Many are the problems that families face today, and many are the Herod’s that try to destroy it. Many are also those who try to live family-life without God. Our Christian families are called to be, spiritually speaking, like the Holy Family. Even though the problems we face today are not the same and family relationships have changed over time, there are things that cannot change. One of the first lessons we can learn from the Holy Family is a lesson of faith. In the family life of Mary and Joseph, God is truly at the center; Jesus is at the center. This is an important lesson for our Christian families today. We are called to build families where God is at the center. It is faith that gives families the energy they need to persevere through the difficulties of life. This faith is evident when a family prays together regularly and when it is not just an obligation, but a joy, to follow the Law of the Lord: for example, to attend Mass together every Sunday. Another great lesson we can learn from the Holy Family, of course, is love. Families, at times, may experience discord, disagreements, fights or divisions. The Holy Family encourages ours to practice mercy and forgiveness. What holds our families together in times of difficulty is love and forgiveness. Pope Francis, talking about the Holy Family, once said, “The light it casts is the light of mercy and salvation for all the world, the light of truth for every man, for the human family and for individual families”.The Holy family also knew profound hope. They trusted completely in God. They call all of us to that kind of trust in Him. That He will help us through our family difficulties.My brothers and sisters; faith, hope and love are the virtues we should learn from the Holy Family. Some families are strong in virtue; some struggle with basic communication; Some are faithful; some are broken and deeply wounded. No matter the case, God wants to enter more deeply into our family life. He wants to be the center like in the Holy Family. He desires to give you strength and virtue to live and make your family a holy family. Happy New Year,Fr. Dailon

Thanks for preparing for next Sunday’s liturgy

I hope everyone had a good Christmas together with mom and dad, and of course, your siblings or just family. I’m sure this will

be a Christmas that you will never forget because of the pandemic. I just hope that as you celebrated as a close family, you had an opportunity to get to know each other better; because you know very well that although you all live together under the same roof, many times you don’t know each other well because you are too busy. How were your Christmas gifts? Did you get many; or because you didn’t get to see many people you didn’t have many gifts? But I think its ok because you learn that this is how in many parts of the world, children don’t receive anything on Christmas day because they live in poverty. I invite my little friends

to reflect on the kind of Christmas you just had and see how blessed you really are to have a mother and father who truly love you and want the best for you. I see many people in the parish were generous with the parish this year. I guess they know that the parish had to pay for the damages done to the doors, and the windows, since the insurance doesn’t cover the whole thing. Those are the signs of how much the people love your parish. I imagine this is the reason why the priests in your parish are so happy to be ministering to you. This week you will begin a New Year. I just want to wish you a very blest andhappy New Year, totally different to what you experienced this year; although I am sure you learned a lot from the pandemic. Ciao and Happy New Year to all! NEW YEAR’S DAY SCHEDULEWe invite you to celebrate the Eucharist as we

come to the conclusion of this year and the beginning of a New Year. On the first day of the

year, the Church dedicates this day to the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God and to pray for peace in the world. Our Masses will be as

follows: Thursday 5:00PM in English and 7:00PM in Spanish. On New Year’s Day 10:30AM in

English and 12:15PM in Spanish. Celebrating and participating of the Eucharist on this day will be a great blessing for us all and a nice way to begin the New Year. Happy New Year to All!

REACHING OUT ON BEHALF OF THE CARMELITE NUNS

We are very grateful to Almighty God for the gift of the Carmelite Nuns, who live here in Morristown. They are a group of women who have been cloistered and dedicated their lives to serving God, offering prayers and sacrifices for us all. I am always joyful to think that the sisters actually pray for me and remember me

in their daily Eucharist. The nuns have no income and don’t sell anything. They live on the mercy and charity of those who visit their chapel and monastery. If you take a trip to their property, you will see that the place needs a lot of work, repairs and a touch of paint. There is a lot of water damage that if left unattended, the place can begin to collapse. I am taking charge of making some of these repairs. I have asked some parishioners that own construction companies and they are

willing to offer their labor; but I need to purchase the materials. Can I count on your

generosity? Can you help me repair the beautiful Carmel Monastery, that belongs to all of us; please say yes, and if you would like to speak with me, I’ll be happy to do so. I trust you will help the nuns and rest assured that

these holy women will be praying for you by name.

THE CHRISTMAS GIFTRemember that if you have not given the parish

your Christmas gift you can still do so, since we are still celebrating the wonderful Christmas

Season. Please know that we depend on the Christmas collection, as well as the Easter

collection, year. So please don’t forget us, espe-cially this year, since with the pandemic less people

have come to church so the collection has been low. Once gain, thank you for your spirit of generosity.

LA SAGRADA FAMILIApor: Padre Dailon Lisabet

En este primer domingo después de Navidad, mientras todavía estamos inmersos en la alegre celebración de la Natividad, la Iglesia nos llama a contemplar la Sagrada Familia de Nazaret. La Sagrada Familia de Jesús era una familia con problemas y dificultades, pero a pesar de la pobreza, las dificultades y las incertidumbres, mantuvieron la fe en Dios y supieron descubrir y colaborar con el designio divino. Es la oración, la obediencia a Dios y el amor mutuo lo que los mantuvo unidos en medio de las dificultades.Muchos son los problemas que enfrentan las familias hoy en día y muchos son los Herodes que intentan destruirla. Muchos son también los que intentan vivir una vida familiar sin Dios.Nuestras familias cristianas están llamadas a ser, espiritualmente hablando, como la Sagrada Familia. Aunque los problemas que enfrentamos hoy en día no son los mismos y las relaciones familiares han cambiado con el tiempo. Hay cosas fundamentales que no pueden cambiar en nuestras familias.Una de las primeras lecciones que podemos aprender de la Sagrada Familia es una lección de fe. En la vida familiar de María y José, Dios es verdaderamente el centro, Jesús es el centro de sus vidas. Esta es una lección importante para nuestras familias cristianas de hoy. Como cristianos nosotros estamos llamados a construir familias donde Dios es siempre el centro. Es la fe lo que da a las familias la fuerza que necesitan para perseverar en las dificultades de la vida. La fe es evidente cuando una familia reza junta regularmente y cuando no es solo una obligación, sino una alegría, seguir la Ley del Señor; por ejemplo, asistir juntos a la Misa todos los domingos.Otra gran lección que podemos aprender de la Sagrada Familia, por supuesto es el amor. Las familias experimentan discordia a veces: desacuerdos, peleas, divisiones. La Sagrada Familia anima a las nuestras a practicar la reconciliación y el perdón. Lo que mantiene unidas a nuestras familias en tiempos de dificultad es el amor, el perdón, el saber reconocer nuestros errores. El Papa Francisco, hablando de la Sagrada Familia, dijo una vez, “La luz que arroja es la luz de la misericordia y la salvación para todo el mundo, la luz de la verdad para cada hombre, para la familia humana y para las familias individuales”.La Sagrada Familia también vivió una profunda esperanza. Confiaron completamente en Dios. Su ejemplo nos llama a todos nosotros a ese tipo de confianza en El, quien es que nos ayudará a superar las dificultades familiares.Hermanos y hermanas, la fe, la esperanza y el amor son las virtudes que debemos aprender de la Sagrada Familia. Memorias de TonyEspero que todos hayan tenido una linda Navidad solitos con su

mama, papa, hermanitos y la familia cercana. Esta será una Navidad que ustedes nunca olvidaran por la pandemia. Espero que, al celebrarla bien unidos como familia, tuvieron la oportunidad de conocerse mejor; porque, aunque vivan bajo un mismo techo, muchas veces no se conocen bien porque se la pasan muy ocupados. ¿Como estuvieron sus regalos de Navidad? ¿Les dieron muchos; o porque no estuvieron con tantas personas no tuvieron muchos este año? Peropienso que esto está bien porque aprenden como en muchas partes del mundo, los niños no reciben ningún regalo en Navidad, porque viven en la pobreza. Invito a mis amiguitos para que reflexionen en la clase de Navidad que acaban de tener y se den cuenta que

bendecidos son de tener un papa y una mama que verdaderamente los aman y desean lo mejor para ustedes. Veo que mucha gente en la comunidad fue muy generosa con la parroquia este año. Me imagino que la gente sabe que la parroquia tuvo que pagar por los daños hechos a las puertas y el vitral, ya que el seguro no lo cubrió todo. Estas son señales de cuanto la gente quiere a la parroquia. Me imagino que esta es la razón por la cual los sacerdotes se sienten tan felices sirviéndoles a ustedes. Esta semana comienza un nuevo año. Quiero desearles un año muy bendecido y totalmente diferente al que han experimentado este año, aunque estoy seguro de que han aprendido mucho de la pandemia. Estamos muy agradecidos a Dios todopoderoso por el regalo de las hermanas Carmelitas que viven en Morristown. Ellas son un grupo demujeres que han dedicado

sus vidasenclaustradas a servir a Dios, haciendo oraciones y sacrificios por

nosotros. Siempre me alegra pensar que las hermanas oran por me y me recuerdan en el sacrificio diario de la Eucaristía. Las monjas no tienen ningún tipo de entrada económica y no venden nada. Ellas están a la merced y

a la caridad de aquellas personas que visitan el monasterio y su capilla. Si usted

llega a la propiedad del monasterio, verá que el lugar necesita mucho trabajo,

reparaciones, y un toque de pintura. Hay muchos daños causados por el agua, que si no se hace algo inmediatamente los daños serán mas grandes. Yo me estoy encargando

de estas reparaciones. Le he pedido a algunas personas de la parroquia, que tienen compañías constructoras, que me ayuden, y han aceptado darme la obra de mano; ahora necesito de ustedes, que me ayuden con los materiales para hacer los arreglos. ¿podría contar con su generosidad? ¿Me puedes ayudar a reparar el hermoso Monasterio

Carmelita, que nos pertenece a todos? Por favor diga que si, pero si le gustaría hablar conmigo, estaría muy contento de hacerlo. Confió en que ustedes van a ayudar a las

monjas y sepan que ellas van a estar haciendo oración por cada uno de ustedes.

HORARIO DEL PRIMER DIA DEL AÑO Queremos invitarlos a celebrar la Eucaristía al

concluir este año y dar comienzo al Nuevo Año. En el primer día del año, la Iglesia dedica este día a la Solemnidad de María, Madre de Dios y a orar por la paz mundial. Nuestras Misas serán como a siguiente: jueves 5:00PM en inglés, 7:00PM en

español. El primero del año tendremos Misa a las 10:30AM en inglés y luego a las 12:15PM en

español. Celebrando y participando de la Eucaristía en este día será una bendición para

nosotros y una manera muy especial de comenzar el nuevo año. ¡Feliz Año para todos!
