Brother, let me be your servant, let me be as Christ to you; Pray that I may have the grace to let you be my servant too. 3. I will weep when you are weeping, when you laugh, I’ll laugh with you; I will share your joy and sorrow, till we’ve seen this journey through. In recognition of those with food allergies, the communion stations on both sides have gluten, wheat, dairy and corn free communion wafers and cup. PRAYER OF CONFESSION AND PARDON (unison) Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will, we have broken your law, we have rebelled against your love, we have not loved our neighbors, we have not heard the cry of the needy. Forgive us, we pray. Free us for joyful obedience, through Jesus Christ our Lord. All pray in Silence Hear the good news: Christ died for us while we were sinners; that proves God’s love toward us. In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven! In the name of Jesus Christ, you are forgiven. Glory to God. Amen. *THE GREAT THANKSGIVING (Leader/People) The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. The pastor gives thanks appropriate to the occasion, concluding: And so, with your people on earth and all the company of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn: (singing) Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory! Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest! Hosanna, Hosanna in the highest! The pastor continues the thanksgiving, concluding: And so, in remembrance of these your mighty acts in Jesus Christ, we offer ourselves in praise and thanksgiving as a holy and living sacrifice, in union with Christ’s offering for us, as we proclaim the mystery of faith: (singing twice) Christ has died; Christ is risen, Christ will come again. The pastor continues the thanksgiving, concluding: All honor and glory is yours, Almighty God, now and forever. Amen. THE LORD’S PRAYER Hymnal No. 895 (unison) Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever. Amen. SHARING OF THE BREAD AND CUP Communion Anthem How Beautiful Twila Paris arr. Bruce Greer * PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION (unison) Almighty God, we thank you that in your great love you have fed us with the spiritual food and drink of the Body and Blood of your Son Jesus Christ, and have given us a foretaste of your heavenly banquet. Grant that this Sacrament may be to us a comfort in affliction, and a pledge of our inheritance in that kingdom where there is no death, neither sorrow nor crying, but the fullness of joy with all your saints; through Jesus Christ our Savior.
