WE DID IT AGAIN! Times Education Icons 2019

Category - National Curriculum – First CSR Initiative - First

Dear Parents, The month has been a time of celebrations galore with awards and acclamations pouring in from all sides and our school catapulting the charts of best schools of the city yet again. Yes, you heard it right! The Lexicon International School, Wagholi has once again grabbed the enviable 1st position as the Best CBSE School in Pune East Zone under the National Curriculum category and has also been bestowed with the prestigious Times Education Icon Award for the top school under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category as well. Not to forget the whole treasure trove of medals and prizes that our exceptional bunch of young Lexiconites have bagged at the various competitions this year. Now doesn’t this call for celebrations? Of course, it does. So after the Diwali vacation our children were back with a bang gearing up for the upcoming Annual Concert, while not leaving any stone unturned to present their assemblies with equal panache. The Senior Secondary students of Classes X and XII were busy preparing for their Boards by appearing for their Prelims. Here’s how we kept ourselves busy the whole month through the different activities and events.

GURU NANAK JAYANTI

To observe the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Dev’s birthday the students came

dressed in traditional Sikh attire. The assembly commenced with a prayer followed by

the 'Ek Onkar' prayer chanted by the students in reverence and homage.

STORY TELLING COMPETITION

Story telling has been an integral part of our childhood. To keep the tradition going and to incite curiosity and the love of reading in children, a story telling competition was held.

SPACEMAN

Spaceman is a friend helping all students to write neatly. This spaceman assists every student to leave a SPACE between every word, as they write sentences on daily basis, thus enabling the students to practice and become perfect.

BLACK AND WHITE COLOUR DAY

Black and white colour was celebrated in pre –primary section to introduce the shades

of black and white.

In the combination of the two significant colours, kids looked beautiful with their black

and white outfits. Classrooms were decorated with black and white pictures and

objects.

CULTIVATING HABITS

Water is one of the most important elements of our body. Efforts were made by

teachers where in they gave reminders to children to drink water as and when

required.

OUTDOOR GAMES

“All work and no play make Jack and Jill dull children”. Students were encouraged to

play outdoor games and remain fit and healthy. The students had a blast playing the

games.

LEARNING WITH FUN

Different activities were conducted within the classroom and outside, so that kids

could have fun learning new concepts. Here’s a glimpse.

FITNESS ACTIVITY

Activities helping kids to stay healthy and energetic were conducted during assembly

time.

“A Smile can open a heart faster than a key can open a lock. Smiles are free, so please don’t save

them. Brighten the world with your smile”

So it’s farewell time again, but not for long. Christmas is round the corner and the

spirit of celebrations for all things big and small, is still fresh in our hearts. Our

students are gearing up to spread smiles across miles in this festive season and we will

be right back next month with peeks and glimpses into the array of activities that our

enthusiastic Lexiconites enjoyed indulging in. Till then immerse in the spirit of

festivity and “drink life to the lees” with your bundles of joy.
