It is important to use the right number on your IRS forms to ensure you file your taxes correctly. For all tax forms, you need to use your full 14 digit account number. Please keep in mind that this is different than your member number and should be used for all electronic transactions.
To find your account number, you can either look on the bottom of your checks or check your account number online through SunNet by following these steps:
• Log into SunNet Online Banking• Click on “Accounts”• Go to the “Options” column (under List View) of the
account and click “Details”• Click “Account Details”• Your full account number is listed as “Account number for
ACH deposit/withdrawal”
So before you file those taxes, double-check to make sure that you have used your 14 digit account number for your refund!
Don’t Forget to Check Your Tax Forms
Keep a close eye on your mailbox before you file your taxes. Suncoast will mail 1099-INT, 1098, 1098-E, 1099-R and 1099SA tax forms prior to January 31, 2016. These forms provide interest earned on your share accounts, mortgage interest, student loan interest and distributions from retirement accounts for tax year 2015. Keep in mind that the IRS does not require form 1099-INT if less than $10 was earned on the account. It is still advisable to report on your 1040 all interest earned. Make sure to verify the accuracy of information immediately, as Suncoast cannot make any corrections after February 15, 2016.
Reminder: the deadline to make your 2015 IRA/HSA contributions is April 15, 2016.
