How to be a co-creator?
Social Threefolding Workshop The independent and individual study The Art of I Skulpture invites you to an open learning session where we will look at society as a living whole with Seth Jordan. 8th - 10th of April 2011 Gent, Belgium
Society is changing. Crisis in all the layers and spheres of society – cultural, economic, political – are indicating the need and deep desire for a more healthy social organism. A new collective consciousness is slowly being born: we create society! It is every individual who carries the responsibility for the creation of this healthy organism. The time of passing on these responsibilities to others is past. Now the question arises “What kind of society do we want to create?” We would like to come together around this question and look at it from different angles. We want to focus in on the urgency of our times and find a new will to act.
This weekend will be a working one. We will start with our own questions and visions concerning society and look at them in relation to society as a whole. We will try to understand this wholeness and ask “What can bring it health?” In this regard, we will also consider Social Threefolding which views society as healthy or sick depending on the relationship of its parts (do the different social spheres - cultural, economic, and political - control and dominate each other, or do they cooperate and leave each other free?) We will ask ourselves “What kind of thinking do we need in order to transform social realities? You are warmly invited to come and explore, re-imagine and work with us! The challenges we as young people face today are huge. But what happens if we look them in the eyes?! The future is whispering, sometimes even shouting, and we can’t deny its call any longer. It is time to come together. We are not alone. We have the knowledge of our neighbor, the courage of our friends, and we all have the will to create a healthy, living society which allows us to be who we are and to grow towards our true potential.
Seth Jordan, co-founder and active member of the peer-led training Think OutWord, will guide us through the weekend. Come and join! This weekend will take place from the 8th until the 10th of April in Gent, Belgium. The costs are not totally clear yet, but it won’t be more than 50 Euros.
