Gmina Krajenka lies in northern part ofWielkopolska Province. It is surrounded by
gminy Zotw, Jastrowie, Okonek, Lipka,Tarnwka i Zakrzewo. It is a part of a big-ger administrative unit Powiat Zotw.It covers an area of 191.8 km2. As regardsthe area, in Poland it is considered to bea medium gmina.

administrative and economic centre ofgmina is a town Krajenka. 7,466 people
live in the area of gmina Krajenka, 3,804of whose live in a town Krajenka. One ofthe main historic attractions of Krajenka is
St Anns and St Nicolas church. It comesfrom the end of the 18th century. Thereare 4 altars inside, rococo pulpit in the
shape of a ships bow, organ dated 1886and a detached belfry. The founder of thechurch was Anna Sulkowska, the owner of
Krajenka properties.

Another historic building is a palaceand a park from the18th / 19th centuries.
The palace was built in 1825 as a propertyof Sukowscy family. At present there isa middle school inside Gimnazjumim. dr. Wadysawa Brzeziskiego.Another attraction is a historic water-milland historic house from the19th centuryat Myska Street. The town has a kin-dergarten, a primary school, a middleschool (gimnazjum) and a secondaryschool - vocational school Zesp SzkSpoywczych.
Krajenka has also its cultural and touristattractions. One of them is Czerwonokrzys-ka Song Festival, organized always in Mayfor nearly 22 years. Another significantevent is Fire Brigades Brass Band Festivalthat is held every year in June. In July 2006
the town organized 2nd European Week ofTourism. By that time many marked bikerouts had appeared in the region.

is a village, 7 km south of Krajenka witha population of about 500 people. The firstmention of Gubczyn comes from 1350.The village between 1st and 2nd WorldWar was situated on the Polish Germanborder. The Polish society resisted Germaninfluence. Polish leader against Germaniza-
tion was a priest Maksymilian Grochowski.Gubczyn has got a primary school, anda kindergarten. There is also St. John theBaptists church and the remains of anevangelical church. The historic attractionis a burial ground from the PomeranianCulture period, with graveyards, urns andpractical pottery that was discovered not farfrom the village, by the Gubczyn May lake.

is a small village with 165 people, thatlies 4 km south of Krajenka. The villagehas typically rural character. Social lifeconcentrates in a Voluntary Fire Brigade
House where all social events are held.Another attraction is a private oil paintinggallery Warehouse of Freckles run by theMaeccy family.

is the smallest village in Gmina Krajenka
with the population of 35 people. Duringthe interwar period it was the only village
that belonged to Poland. It is situated onthe hilly grounds with two lakes: GubczynMay and Gubczyn Wielki. The only his-toric attraction is a palace, built in the 19thcentury, preserved to our times in goodcondition.

is a village that lies on the way Krajenka
Margonin. A population of the villageis about 500 people. In the 18th and
19th centuries, being under German rulePodrna manifested its Polish identity.It cultivated national traditions. Polish
choir Dzwon was active here, Polishschool was found in 1929. Famous Polish
linguist Wadysaw Brzeziski, the authorof Podrnas local dialect dictionarywas born here. Krajenkas middle school gimnazjum has been named after him.
Now Podrna is a neat and tidy villagewith 30 farms.

character. Besides, it has a horse stud run
by Danuta and Marian Gyewscy who keephorses of Wielkopolska race. In the villagethere is also a three-class school, a chapel

is the biggest village in Gmina Krajenka.Its about 12 km south west of Krajenka,with a population of about 590 people.
The village has its own primary schooland a kindergarden. There are also a fewcompanies, like Transpil-Spedition orMiralex. Skrka lies at the Gomia river,by which an old mill has been convertedinto a beautiful hotel. The village is sur-rounded by picturesque forests and lakes,thats why many people from neighbouringtown Pia live here, commuting to work.

are two small, neighbouring villages ontwo sides of the road. 450 people live in
Paruszka and about 170 in Dolnik. In thevillages there arent any schools. There isa kindergarten in Dolnik. A historic attrac-tion of Paruszka is a brick church, previ-ously (in 17th century) a small woodenchapel. It was built by Protestants whoused to live here. The forests surroundingthe villages are rich in mushrooms the
great attraction for, especially, touristsliving in big cities.
