We are in St. Louis whose arch was a gateway to the west...

In his dedication speech, Hubert Humphrey proclaimed the arch “a soaring curve in the sky that links the rich heritage of yesterday with the richer future of tomorrow” and brings a “new purpose” and a “new sense of urgency…".

New Evangelization… “new in its ardor, methods and expression”,

A “Gateway to Mission“… grounded in our “rich heritage of yesterday” with new “ardor, methods and expression”. creating a “richer future of tomorrow” where the people of God have “renewed energy and confidence in their faith rooted in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, an increased knowledge of the Faith, a greater participation in the sacramental life of the Church, and a stronger commitment to be active disciples.” (USCCB Strategic Plan)
