National Aptitude Test in

Architecture (NATA) is conducted

by the Council of Architecture,

which is the most competent &

final authority in fixing norms and

standards for the Architectural

Institutions in INDIA.

NATA - the Eligibility Test for the

5-year B. Arch. Course -measures

the aptitude of the applicants in

the field of Architecture. The test

measures drawing as well as

observation skills, sense of

proportion, aesthetic sensitivity

and critical thinking ability that are

related to the specific field of

study, Architecture. NATA is

conducted as a one - day

examination 2 times at various

Institutions in India, by the Council

of Architecture (COA).

5-Year B.Arch. Degree

For B.Arch. admission in any Institution in India (Merit

/ Management / NRI quota), candidates must have

passed 10+2 scheme of examination with a minimum

of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

as well as 50% marks in aggregate at the 10+2 level

examination. Besides, the candidate should clear

NATA.

No lateral admission is allowed. Transfer is permitted

within the university at any year / stage.

SUBJECTS FOR NATA EXAM

The question paper comprises of three sections:

Physics, Chemistry as well as Mathematics, General

Aptitude and Drawing Test.

NATA EXAM PATTERN

Mode of Exam: The exam will be held through

offline mode (Part - A) and online Mode (Part - B).

Duration: The duration of the exam is 3 hours & 15

minutes.

Question Paper Pattern: The questions from

Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & General Aptitude

will be multiple choice questions.

No. of Questions: There are 3 questions in PART A

and 50 questions in Part B.

Total Marks: 200.

NATA EVALUATION PATTERN

Marking Scheme: 1.5 marks will be awarded for

each correct answer in Physics, Chemistry, Mathe-

matics & General Aptitude test and 125 marks for 3

questions in Drawing.

Negative Marking: Marks will not be deducted for

incorrect answer.

QUALIFYING MARKS FOR NATA

A minimum of 32 marks, out of 125 marks, must be

secured in Part A (approximately 25%). A minimum of

18 marks out of 75 marks must be secured in Part B

(approximately 25%). The overall qualifying marks

(out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics

and depends on the discretion of the Council.

NEED FOR NATA COACHING

Students, who wish to appear for NATA and target to

get admission in leading Architecture Colleges in

India need coaching for NATA, which is based on the

syllabus and examination pattern set by the Council

of Architecture.

LONG TERM COURSE

NATA Long Term Course at SDS NATA Coaching

Centres will commence in the fourth week of

December 2019.

CRASH COURSE

NATA Crash Course will commence in the month of

March, soon after the Plus Two Examinations get over

and continue till one day before NATA examination.

DATE OF EXAMINATION

NATA is to be conducted on 19 April 2020 & 31

May 2020.

DECLARATION OF RESULTS

NATA Results will be published on 08 May 2020 &

14 June 2020.
