Core Network (CN)

Evolution• CN includes a series of physical entities to reali,e

user location management- network function andservice control- such as */+!SC- 01R- SC'-S!C-/SN etc.

•  CN can be divided into three types2 0omeNetwork omain- Transit Network omain and

R99 Core Network• R99 is the original standard for 3!TS WC!" based

networks. 0S'" is an add on to R9943!TS networkswhich adds a shared high speed downlink packetchannel.

• Core Network is split into CS domain and 'S domain. CSdomain is based on original /S! network. 'S domain isbased on original /'RS network.

• CS domain2 used to provide Circuit5switched service.Network mode can support T!- "T! and %'. 'hysical

entities include switching e6uipment *such as !SC471R-/!SCs+- and inter5working e6uipment *%W$+.

• 'S domain2 used to provide 'acket5switched service.Network mode is %'. 'hysical entities include S/SN-//SN- C/ - 8/ etc.
