RRV (Record Relocation Vector) is responsible for finding a specific NoteID by pointing to the Lotus Notes Database. If it becomes corrupted then Notes cannot locate the specific NoteID and an error message “RRV bucket is corrupt” is displayed. There are various methods available, depending on the cause of the error which can resolve this issue. Some of them are mentioned below: 1) Corrupt bookmarks or icon: Rebuild the desktop5.dsk (R5) file after renaming it. If problem is still there, then log in to the client and if there is any corrupt icon then remove it. Now compact the workspace. 2) Corrupt Database: Restore the latest database backup. Use R fixup -f", then "compact -c -i" command to recover the corrupt database. 3) Corrupt Archived Database: Restore the mailfile from recent backup. Then with the help of backup copy create a new archive database. There are various ways in which new archive database can be created. Domino Server database can also be used to recover the data if the RRV bucket is not severely corrupted. Various commands like Fixup, compact, updall etc are also available to resolve minor corruption issues. However there is a probability of data loss so keeping a recent database is must.
