Georgia on My Mind We have two exciting new Adventures to announce for 2019: Georgia and Armenia and Berlin to Budapest.

Georgia and Armenia, Crossroads of Antiquity, is a 14-day premium tour that delves into the rich heritage of these two former Soviet Republics. Because these two countries are on the crossroads connecting Europe and Asia, their rich history and culture has been formed through interaction with their regional neighbors over the ages. churches, forts and artifacts along the way. Because this tour takes place along the southern Caucasus mountain range, the scenery will be breathtaking as we travel along river valleys, rugged

mountains and the Black Sea coastline. We’ve scheduled this exciting Adventure for October 2019.

Berlin to Budapest is a fascinating Eastern European tour that includes Hungary, Romania and Poland. On this tour we will visit historic cities such as Dresden, Wroclaw and Krakow, as well as numerous medieval towns fortified with 13th century German-Saxon walls, towers and bastions. We’ll encounter plenty of twisty roads as we ride the High Tatra Mountains that form the border between Poland and Slovakia. This Adventure includes a week riding through the Transylvania region of Romania, which is renowned for its

mountainous borders, medieval towns and gothic castles. It will include traversing two spectacular passes over the Carpathian range. This 14-day premium tour will be offered in early September 2019.

Take Two!

Tour Pairings As a premium travel company, we are challenged to satisfy the desires of our very diverse customer base. Some of our guests are at the height of their professional careers and can at best only plan vacations of less than two weeks. Others feel that two weeks is barely enough time to get warmed-up, so these guests look for trips of 3 weeks and longer duration.

One way to satisfy both types of Adventurers is to offer a number of our trips back-to-back. The following tours are designed to be paired together:

* Two of these pairings, Scotland/Ireland, and Australia/New Zealand, require a short flight between them, but the schedule allows for that, and lodging between the paired tours is complimentary.

An Ayres Adventures First

Wedding Bells Ring

It was an Ayres Adventures “first” when a couple on one of our tours used the occasion to tie the knot – along the actual tour route! Tom Wilroth and Karin Baker were participating in a private version of our Bohemian Rhapsody tour organized for a group of 14 friends.

Our tour leaders were in on the secret and suggested several alternatives along the route that would be appropriate for the ceremony. The couple selected Castle Linderhof in southeast Bavaria. Rob Spero, a longtime friend of the couple, and the only one of the group aware of the plan, performed the official ceremony. The lovely bride donned the required veil, while the groom dressed appropriately in a tuxedo t-shirt! It was particularly fitting for Tom and Karin to be married in a castle in Germany, as they both have ancestral ties to the area. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!
