HEALTH CORNERMental Health: Everyone Experiences some emotional ups and downs from time to time, which can be caused by events in our lives. Understanding mental health isn't only about being able to identify symptoms and having a name for these conditions. Trying to tell the difference between what expected behaviors are and what might be the signs of a mental health condition isn't always easy. But identifying a problem early can help lead to a better outcome. A mental illness can regularly disrupt a person’s thinking, feeling, mood and ability to relate to others. Half of mental health conditions begin at age 14 and 75% of mental health develops by the age of 24. Most common types of mental disorders: Clinical depression- persistently depressed mood or loss of interest. Anxiety disorder-feelings of worry, anxiety, fear, or loss of interest. Bipolar disorder - episodes of mood swings ranging from depressive lows to manic highs. Dementia - A group of thinking and social symptoms that interfere with daily functioning. Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder- A chronic condition including attention difficulty, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness. Obsessive disorder-Excessive thoughts that lead to repetitive behaviors. Autism-A developmental disorder that impairs the ability to communicate and interact. Post-traumatic stress disorder- A disorder in which a person has difficulty recovering after experiencing or witnessing a terrifying event. The condition may last months or years. NOTE: For help you can google Mental Health Services to seek places for treatment.

CHURCH VAN PROCEDURES: Van use request forms must be submitted two weeks prior to the date of the event. A minimum of seven people are required in order to use the van/bus and the van can only be used for Wayman Chapel purposes. Donations for use are accepted. All drivers must successfully complete the required Driver Training Program. Anyone interested in being a driver, please contact Bro. Damon Woods at 304-5575.

FACILITYKITCHEN REQUEST FORM: Members must fill out a Kitchen Request Form to use the kitchen. The forms are located outside of the treasurer’s office, bottom slot.
