Wave PowerWave power installations can produce more energy with less equipment. They have low
operational and maintenance costs.
In 2008, the first experimental wave farm was opened in Portugal, at the Aguçadoura Wave Park.

Wave PowerWaves are a powerful source of energy and there are several methods of getting it from them.

How does it work?At a wave power station, the waves arriving cause the water in the chamber to rise and fall, which means that air is forced in and out of the hole in the top of the chamber and turns the turbine.Turbine then turns a generator, which produces electricity.

How does it work? Each Pelamis has three power modules joined by tubular sections. Waves cause the modules and tubes to move in relation to each other. This motion is resisted by hydraulic rams in each of the joints. The hydraulic rams pump high-pressure oil through hydraulic motors. The hydraulic motors drive electrical generators to produce electricity.

Advantages
1.Low operational and maintenance costs.
2. No CO2 emission.
3. It is renewable, so we won’t run out of it.
4. There are many ways to harvest it.
5. No damage to land.
6. It is easily predictable, because it is consistent .
Disadvantages
1.The wave energy plants are usually far from areas of energy consumption.
2. Some designs can be very noisy, but waves make a lot of noise themselves so it’s not a big problem.
3.Only certain areas are suitable for wave power plants.
4.It can be dangerous to some sea creatures near it.
5. It can disturb commercial and private vessels.
6. Visual pollution.
