Reverse osmosis occurs when the water is moved across the membrane against the concentration gradient, from lower concentration to higher concentration. To illustrate, imagine a semi permeable membrane with fresh water on one side and a concentrated aqueous solution on the other side. If normal osmosis takes place, the fresh water will cross the membrane to dilute the concentrated solution. In reverse osmosis, pressure is exerted on the side with the concentrated solution to force the water molecules across the membrane to the fresh water side. Reverse osmosis is often used in commercial and residential water filtration. It is also one of the methods used to desalinate seawater. Sometimes reverse osmosis is used to purify liquids in which water is an undesirable impurity (e.g., ethanol).

ETP is meant to treat all the effluent generated during process of power generation as well as water treatment.

COWS- Central Oil Water Separating System- all the location in the plant having Hazard of oil leakage having sump and transfer pump, the oil and water transfer to COWS where oil and water

get separated.

CMB – Central Monitoring Basin- Drain Water in IBD,CBD , COWS, CT Blow down stored in

basin, temperature and pH of the water monitored up to the norm of DPCC before disposal of the water through pump at the

downstream of the SNH NALA.

DIPOSAL OF SLUDGE

THICKNER -1,2 CSDS -Sludge generated in Clarifier & Cooling Tower transfer to Sludge

Thickener where useable water get separated and concentration of sludge got increase

CENTRIFUGE-1,2 CSDS- Concentrated Sludge get separated from water in sludge Centrifuge and

separated water transferred to stealing chamber for further use and sludge is dispose off at

designated place for disposal.

CHLORINATION PLANT CHLORINE DOSING IS DONE TO REMOVE ODOURNESS AND STOP THE BACTERIAL & ALGAL GROWTH.

IN PPCL WE ARE HAVING TWO STREAMS OF 150 Kg/hr FOR CW SYSTEM AND TWO STREAM OF 10 Kg/hr FOR LIME SOFTENING PLANT AND RODM

CHLORINE ABSORPTION TOWER IS INSTALLED TO ARREST / ABSORB CHLORINE LEAKAGE DETECTED BY LEAK DETECTORS
