DIY Greenhouse
Watering, Fertilizing, & Ventalation
*Watering everyday is important, but over watering can cause
mold.
*Fertilizing- my greenhouse I fertilized flowers every week, but
vegetables would be
different. Vegetables should be fertilized after the plant has start-
ed growing, not as a seed. Contact your local garden center for a
good fertilizer in your area.
*Ventilation– A thermostat is important in a greenhouse! When it
gets 80 degrees cross ventilation is important. Plants need that
! Starting Seeds
1– Get a empty plastic planting tray with lid( at
your home and garden center).
2– Soil is important! Get a good seedling mix.
3– Fill the tray half way with soil mix.
4– Push seeds in separating them accordingly.
Larger plants should be farther part than small
plants. Lightly cover with soil mix and press lightly.
5– Water thoroughly, but gently. Do not soak, just
wet..
6-Cover with clear plastic lid, to hold in moisture.
7– Place under lights. Check daily! Keep moist, but
not wet.

Planting a Planter
Highlights to planting hanging baskets:
* Use a good potting soil ( I like sunshine mix #1, it light, but
does the job)
*Don’t forget your Osomicote Fertilizer
* Keep sunny plants with sunny plants
* Keep shady plants with shady plants
* Plant plants with different heights, tall, medium, and
cascading.
* Use a variety of textures
Here are some of my favorites:
Ipomoea-Marguerite
Potato Vine
Bacopa Sutera
Scopia White
Homestead Purple
Verbena Canadensis
Geranium
Step By Step 1– Fill a 12” container 3/4 full with
potting soil
2– In center plant your spike
(Dracaena )
3– In a triangle around the spike plant
bacopa, potato vine, and verbena. Plant
close to the center so they plants can
spread out.
4– Plant geraniums in a triangle closer
to the outer edge between other plants.
