To regenerate their waterfronts,cities everywhere face a key issue –how can they attract the funding andfinance required for key projects?By examining the actual progress made to date by a range of key cities inregenerating their waterfronts, WaterfrontExpo 2011 will draw on theirexperience of building successful relationships with private sectordevelopers and investors and examine how they are now building on thissuccess to attract new investment.

Officially supported by Clyde Waterfront, Dundee Waterfront, the City ofEdinburgh Council, and Glasgow City Council, WaterfrontExpo 2011Scotland will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow on 2 and 3November.

The comprehensive programme is designed to meet the needs of cityauthorities, development agencies and waterfront professionals seekingpartners and finance for waterfront regeneration projects and associatedservices, and of investors and developers seeking quality waterfrontinvestment opportunities.

The programmeThe stimulating 2-day programme will include:● CASE STUDIES: At least four international case studies (confirmed to

date are Barcelona, Chicago and Marseille) and three UK case studies– Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

● WORKSHOPS: Three city workshops covering Dundee, Edinburgh andGlasgow led by existing investors and developers.

● SITE VISITS + PRESENTATIONS: Site visits to the Edinburgh and Clydewaterfronts; The Dundee Waterfront Show – the role of culture inwaterfront regeneration.

● Showcase Displays featuring companies and organisations involved inwaterfront regeneration.

● Official civic reception in Glasgow’s new Riverside (Transport)Museum designed by world famous architect Zaha Hadid.

● Presentation by Philip Long, the Director of the V&A at Dundee onhow Dundee became host to the first site of the V&A outside London.

● A presentation on the 2014 Commonwealth Games to be staged inGlasgow, and the resulting economic stimulus.

● A tour of BBC Scotland’s HQ at Pacific Quay, Glasgow (numberslimited to 40).
