IntroductionYou are invited to participate in a freeone-day symposium on water governancein the UK and EU. Improving watergovernance is key to achieving a range ofenvironmental, social and economicobjectives including food, water and energysecurity, climate change resilience, healthand well-being, and sustainable economicgrowth. CADWAGO researchers from theOpen University have been working withGovernment bodies, NGOs, consultants,water industry, academics, and others tobetter understand the current water

governance situation and how it might beimproved in practice. This symposium willshowcase CADWAGO’s collaborative actionresearch, along with other innovative watergovernance initiatives from the UK and EU.It will also provide the opportunity fordiscussion about CADWAGO research, andabout emerging issues, experiences andimplications for policy and practice. Thesymposium will conclude with an agendafor transforming water governance in theUK and EU.
